Art for model homes, show homes and sales galleries
iHomeArt supplies hand-painted art for model homes, show homes, sales galleries and marketing suites: original canvases for developers, their marketing teams and the designers who dress each unit, painted to order for every plan type. If your CGIs already show a painting on the wall, we paint it by hand in the scheme's colours and at the size of the real wall, so the show home matches the brochure buyers have seen.

Can the art in our CGIs be painted for the real show home?
Yes: send the render and the wall size, and the painting it shows is painted by hand on canvas, redrawn for the real wall and mixed to the scheme's colours.
Buyers have seen the CGIs on the website, the hoarding and the brochure, and the art in them is part of the picture they remember, even when it was only a placeholder. We turn it into a real canvas by one of three routes.
- A generic abstract, landscape or texture is painted from a crop of the render, redrawn to the real wall's proportions. See paintings from your own image.
- Something close to a catalogue work: with some 1,300 works to choose from, there is often one near the render, resized and recoloured, so you see the composition before painting starts.
- A recognisable work by a living artist needs the rights holder's permission for a hand-painted reproduction; otherwise we design an original with the same colours, scale and mood.
Send the highest-resolution render, the wall sizes and the scheme board. A render is lit perfectly and a show home is not, so check the stage photos against the physical board too.
Which art for model homes suits each buyer, from first flat to penthouse?
Dress each plan for the buyer it has to win: keep one palette across the development, and let the subject, scale and finish change from the one-bed to the penthouse.
The plan type already tells you who will walk through each model unit, and the art is one of the quickest ways to tell that visitor the home is theirs. Staging resale homes instead? See home stagers. A show villa with twenty walls or more runs like a whole-house project.
-
AA#081 First-time buyers
Bright and easy to like: colour-field abstracts and knife-laid colour. One generous canvas rather than three small ones, so a compact room photographs larger.
Colourful works -
TA#904 Families
Landscapes and coastlines over the sofa, a still life by the table and something playful in the children's rooms, so the third bedroom reads as a child's room.
Landscape works -
IA#471 Downsizers
Calm Impressionist florals and gardens in gold or wood frames. Downsizers bring treasured pieces of their own, so the art shows where those could hang.
Impressionist works -
MA#881 Penthouse buyers
Scale and material: an oversized textured or gold-leaf canvas on the feature wall, and pieces that look collected, not delivered with the furniture.
Textured works
Two show units on one plan: should they hang the same painting?
Usually not: give each unit a different painting at the same size and in the same palette, so a visitor who walks through both sees one scheme rather than a repeated picture.
The two pictures make the point: one bedroom, two different works, and either suits the scheme.
- Vary. One catalogue work becomes a small series in the same palette and hand, each with its own composition. The CGI's painting goes in the unit being photographed; its variations go in the others.
- One palette, different works. Works with different subjects, each recoloured to the same board.
Where the same plan is shown on two sites no visitor sees on the same day, one design can hang in both, each canvas painted separately. More on the routes on the custom page.
When should art for model homes be ordered to hang before launch?
As soon as the interior scheme is signed off, planned back from the dressing day rather than the launch: the art has to be on site before the stylist and the photographer arrive.
Put the dressing day and the launch date in your first message, and the quote gives a delivery date for every piece.
- Scheme signed offSend the CGIs or boards, the unit list with wall sizes and your dates; a shortlist per plan type comes with the quote if you want one.
- Hero piece firstWhere the palette is critical, the first hero canvas is painted ahead and its stage photos set the colours for the rest.
- About 10 days at the easelThe painter waits for your approval at each stage, so name one person who can say yes on the day.
- Final photographsYou approve each finished piece; the set is packed and labelled by unit and wall.
- 5–7 days by expressDHL, FedEx or UPS to the site, the sales office or your stylist's store.
- A week in handAim for the set to land a week before dressing day, and unpack it on arrival, not on the morning of the shoot.
What model home art photographs well for brochures and listings?
Large, unglazed canvases with real texture and a palette the scheme already has: they hold their own in a wide-angle shot, throw no reflections and need no colour correction afterwards.
The photographs keep selling on the portals and in the brochure long after the unit is sold.
- Lens
- A wide lens shrinks the far wall, so a canvas that feels generous in the room reads modest in the hero shot. Torn between two sizes? Take the larger, and prefer one big piece to a cluster of small ones.
- Glare
- Canvas hangs without glass, so nothing mirrors the window, the downlights or the flash.
- Texture
- Knife-laid paint and plaster relief cast small shadows in side light, which makes a detail shot look like a real painting. See the textured works.
- Colour
- Take the art's strongest colour from the scheme, a cushion or the rug, and nobody has to tone down a stray orange in post-production.
- Crops
- Portals crop to portrait and square; a vertical piece by the bed or in the hallway gives a ready-made upright shot. See the vertical works.
Sales gallery art: what belongs on the statement wall?
The place itself: the view from the upper floors, the skyline, the landmark or the building before it exists, painted from your photographs or the architect's render, across the full width of the wall.
A sales gallery sells the location before the floor plan, and the wall visitors face on arrival, or behind the scale model, is where marketing suite art earns its place. Send a drone photograph taken at the height of the top floors, the skyline, the park or waterfront the development faces, or the architect's render of the building, and it is painted by hand, recomposed for the wall. A painting of the building reads as art in a way a fourth render cannot. See paintings from your own image.
A wall too wide for one canvas to travel takes a diptych or triptych that reads as one image. With no photograph yet, start from the cityscapes or the panoramic works. Keep the rest of the suite quieter: calm works in the rooms where reservations are agreed, and the units' own art previewed by the brochure table.
How should the show home art budget be split across units?
Spend where buyers decide and where the camera looks, the sales gallery and each unit's hero wall, and save on the walls visitors pass on their way through.

Counted across the launch
Volume pricing from 10 pieces counts the whole order: every show unit, the sales gallery and any later phase ordered with them.
Priced piece by piece
The quote prices each canvas separately, so you can see what a smaller size or a rolled finish saves before touching the rooms in the photographs.
How does the art reach dressing day ready to hang, and undamaged?
Choose each finish for the day it goes up: framed and stretched canvases hang straight from the box, while rolled canvas ships cheapest but needs a framer first.
| Finish | Travels as | Before it goes up | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Framed | The largest box, slowest to send | Nothing: hooks come fitted. Gold, silver, black, white or wood | The hero wall and the sales gallery |
| Stretched | A flat box the size of the canvas | Nothing: it hangs frameless | Bedrooms, dining, every plaster or deep-texture piece |
| Rolled | A light tube, the cheapest and quickest to ship | A local framer stretches or frames it | Smaller pieces, when the programme has slack |
Plaster relief and heavy knife-work would crack in a tube, so they travel stretched or framed, unless you agree a thinner texture that rolls. Tell us who signs for the delivery: the site gate, the sales office or your stylist's store.
Damage is rare: careful packing and trusted carriers keep our return rate under 0.01%. Open the boxes when they land, not on dressing morning; if something is damaged, send photos, and we take the claim up with the carrier and work out a solution with you, such as a replacement or a refund. The week in hand gives that solution room.
What happens to the show home art after launch, or when phase two opens?
It is yours: every piece is sold outright, so it can go into the sale with the unit, move to the next phase or the finished building, or be painted again from its codes.
Sold with the unit. When a buyer asks for the show home furnished, the art can go with it: an original is an easy line to add to the sale, and the next show unit is dressed again from the same codes.
Painted again for phase two. Each order records every piece's code, size, colourway and finish. Send that list back and the set is painted again to the same board, as a new order: fresh originals, with slightly different brushwork and the same palette. For a phase aimed at a different buyer, keep the compositions and shift the palette.
Moved on. Art from a closed sales gallery suits the residents' lounge, and a purchaser who loved a show home painting can have the same code painted for their own wall. For permanent art across a finished tower, see multifamily and branded residences.

Model home art: questions developers and stylists ask
Do you hang the paintings in the show home?
Your stylist or installer hangs them, and each piece arrives ready for it: framed canvases with hooks fitted, stretched ones ready to go straight up, each labelled with its unit and wall. Send the wall elevations for a suggested hanging height, and agree security fixings with your installer where visitors brush past.
What size painting goes over the sofa in a model home?
About two-thirds of the sofa's width, with the lower edge 20–25 cm above the sofa back: over a 240 cm sofa, a canvas around 150–160 cm wide, or two panels side by side. In a narrow living room, a vertical pair either side of the window does the same job. Send the sofa width and the ceiling height and we suggest a size.
Which art suits the kitchen, bathrooms and study of a model home?
Small and practical: a still life or botanical on the dining side of a kitchen-diner, away from the hob; one stretched canvas on a dry bathroom wall, clear of the shower: see bathroom works. In the study, quiet geometric or minimal work shows a buyer who works from home where the desk goes: see home office works.
Can we hire show home art instead of buying it?
We sell every piece outright, and for a developer that tends to work well: no hire fee running while a launch runs long, nothing to send back when a buyer wants the unit furnished, and a set that moves on to the next phase. Each work is also painted for your scheme, not picked from a hire stock.
Can you paint our development's logo or brand pattern for the marketing suite?
Yes, logos are welcome. A brand mark or the brochure's pattern can be painted into a canvas for reception, or into a series in the development's colours. Send the vector file and the brand colour codes; you approve a sketch, then the stage photos as usual. See paintings from your own image.
Can our visualiser put the real paintings into the next phase's CGIs?
Yes, and it closes the loop between brochure and show home. Ask for straight-on photographs of each finished piece with the order. Your visualiser places them in the next renders, so the phase-two CGIs show the very paintings buyers will find on the walls, rather than another placeholder.
Is hand-painted art worth it in a show home, or will prints do?
In the rooms buyers stand in, the difference shows at arm's length: raised paint, brush marks, colour carried round the canvas edge. A show home asks buyers to trust the quality of everything they cannot see, and the art is one of the few finishes they judge by eye. Every piece is hand-painted in acrylic, or in oil on request; nothing is printed.
