Abstract blue mountain ridges and gold sky acrylic painting

Ridges of navy and slate blue rise in layers through the lower half of a wide canvas, under a sweep of white cloud warmed from within by gold. The blues bleed into one another like poured ink, along soft edges and thin pale lines, and the cloud band runs on a long diagonal, giving the low landscape a sense of wind. Gold appears twice: as a glow breaking through the cloud and as fine seams and flecks along the darkest ridges.

The surface is smooth and brushed thin; depth comes from tone alone, darkest at the foot of the mountains and almost white at the top.
