Office wall art in the UAE for headquarters, banks and clinics

iHomeArt paints office wall art for the UAE by hand and to order: original canvases for headquarters, bank branches, clinics and government offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the other emirates, sized to each reception, boardroom and corridor wall. This guide takes an office fit-out's questions in order: which local thread to use, which walls are yours, and what size and palette each one needs.

Does office wall art in the UAE need a local thread?

Not always, but the offices that publish their interiors usually give it one: a craft, a tree, a letterform or a palette, used once and well rather than on every wall.

For Takeda's 23,000 sq ft office at One Central, the designers at Roar had Khalid Shafar make a series of artworks from khoos palm weaving, hung throughout the floor. BNP Paribas Wealth Management's office at ICD Brookfield Place shows a geometric wall piece by Kav Ahangar inspired by the ghaf tree. Government interiors do the same: the Ajman Ruler's Court is finished in a palette described as 'predominantly monochromatic in terracotta tones', with a boardroom piece based on traditional Al Barwa letters.

The lesson for your own floor is restraint. Choose one thread and give it the wall visitors see first, the reception or the boardroom end wall, then let meeting rooms and corridors carry the same palette in quieter abstract work. One considered reference reads as a company that belongs here; a heritage scene on every wall reads as décor. More on UAE taste in our UAE wall art guide.

Do you need a corporate art collection, or art for the fit-out?

Usually the fit-out first: canvases sized to every wall by move-in day, with one or two walls kept for the works a collection adds over the years.

A collection is a long project. An Abu Dhabi gallerist who advises corporate buyers told AGBI in 2025 that most UAE corporate collections were launched in the early 2020s and are still being developed, and that a strong one can easily take ten years to establish. They stay compact: A.R.M. Holding's, described as one of the largest corporate collections in the country, held 38 works by 35 artists in February 2024.

Your walls, meanwhile, are bare the day the staff move in. A two-floor office like Julius Baer's at ICD Brookfield Place, with seven meeting rooms and three boardrooms, easily has twenty walls people face daily. So plan both: paint the whole floor now in one palette, and name the reception and the boardroom end wall as collection walls. When a work by an Emirati or regional artist arrives, it takes that wall and the canvas moves to a corridor. For a professional firm's head office, see corporate artwork from reception to the boardroom.

In a DIFC or ADGM tower, which walls are yours to fill?

Everything from your own front door inwards: the tower's lobby and public spaces belong to the landlord's art programme, so a tenant's budget goes on reception, boardroom, meeting rooms and corridors.

The big towers run their own programmes. ICD Brookfield Place has an in-house arts programme, led by a head of arts and events and focused largely on Middle Eastern artists, and DIFC bills itself as home to the UAE's largest public art collection, including a sculpture park. Your art starts where your lease does, and can echo the building's tone.

The size of your floor sets the size of the order. ADGM Square offers units from 46 m² up to full floors of 1,900 m²: a small unit may need a reception canvas and one meeting-room piece; a full-floor tenant also owns the lift lobby, the wall everyone faces as the doors open. New space is let early, too: all 48,000 m² of office space delivered in Abu Dhabi in the first quarter of 2026 was pre-let, so most floors are fitted out to a fixed move-in date. If you are the landlord planning the lobby itself, see office lobby art for landlords.

What size of office artwork suits reception, boardroom and corridors?

Size each piece to the distance it is read from: the widest canvas behind reception, about two-thirds of the end wall in the boardroom, and a series of smaller works along the corridors.

Office walls are read from further away than at home, often in passing. Dubai Culture's office programme names the spaces that count: meeting rooms, waiting areas, hallways and receptions. Start from the table, then send us the elevations:

SpaceHow it is seenA canvas that holds the wall
Reception, behind the deskFrom the door, 6–10 m away200–300 cm wide, or a pair; taller in a double-height space
Lift lobbyAs the doors open, 3–4 m awayOne vertical, 120–180 cm tall, centred on the doors
Boardroom end wallDown the table, seatedAbout two-thirds of the wall's width, often 180–250 cm
Meeting roomsAcross the table, seated100–150 cm, one palette across the suite
CorridorsIn passing, at arm's lengthA series of 80–120 cm works, evenly spaced
Waiting areasSeated, for minutes at a timeA calm horizontal of 120–180 cm, hung a little lower

Check two things before you fix a size: the service lift, which limits how large a stretched canvas can reach your floor, and the ceiling, so the piece clears downlights and sprinkler heads. Where the lift is the limit, a wide piece can be painted as two or three panels that hang as one. Inches and home sizes are in the UAE size guide.

Which palette suits a bank, a law firm or a tech office in the UAE?

Warm neutrals that sit with stone and metal for finance and law, stronger colour for tech and media, and in every case a palette taken from the fit-out's own materials.

Finance and technology fill most new floors: in the second half of 2025, banking and finance made up 32.5% of Dubai's office demand and technology 23.1%. Two recent DIFC fit-outs show the financial register: the Funds Centre, finished in 2025, is built around natural stone and warm metals, and DIFC's own 2024 offices pair a warm neutral palette with touches of pastel green and bold red. Against those walls, earth-toned texture, warm-neutral abstraction and gold-accented geometry hold a boardroom without fighting the joinery.

Global firms often bring their own story: Julius Baer's DIFC floors hang contemporary Swiss artists from the bank's collection, and canvases in the same palette can fill the walls the shipped works leave. Tech, media and creative floors can take stronger colour on open-plan and kitchen walls, where a vivid canvas marks a meeting point; keep the client rooms quieter. Either way, send daylight photographs of the stone, timber and fabric, and the colours are mixed to them. Subjects and palettes across the country are in UAE styles.

Can office art carry your logo, brand colours or a view of your district?

Yes: send us the logo, brand pattern or photograph, and we suggest how it becomes a painting that reads as art first and branding second.

Brand colours can carry a serious piece. In Edelman's Dubai reception, an Emirati artist made the main installation from the headgear Emirati men wear, in the firm's brand colours, beside graphic works based on satellite images of downtown Dubai. Emirates NBD took a different route for its Dubai Design District branch in 2018, commissioning a painting by the Emirati artist Fatema Al Mazrouie to mark the Year of Zayed and tell the bank's story.

We paint from what you send: a logo or crest abstracted into a pattern, your brand colours carried through a series, or a photograph of your building, your district or a landmark nearby. You need to own the image or have permission to use it, and a design can be kept exclusive to your company if you ask before we start. More on paintings from your own image.

What changes for a clinic, hospital or government office?

The subject and the cleaning: calm work for people who are waiting or unwell, no figures in public-facing rooms, and a placement agreed with infection control.

Healthcare buildings here already draw on regional pattern and colour: HDR, the architect, describes its interiors for Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi as weaving in Arabesque patterns and regional colour palettes. Public areas can take real scale, as the 16-metre kinetic pendulum in the atrium of Burjeel Medical City shows, while waiting areas want something quieter: a landscape or seascape gives a patient somewhere to rest their eyes, hung a little lower for people who are seated.

Hygiene decides where it hangs. When Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi put student paintings on its isolation floors in 2020, every one was laminated so it could be disinfected. A painted canvas is dusted dry and never sprayed, so agree the placement with your infection-control team: waiting areas, corridors and offices rather than treatment rooms. In government offices and other public-facing rooms, keep to abstraction, landscape and geometry; public bodies also tend to fund commissions generously, to support local artists, one Abu Dhabi gallerist told AGBI. How does an office art order run with iHomeArt, from wall schedule to handover?

Send a wall schedule while the fit-out is being drawn; we propose a design for each wall, paint one sample if you want it, and send stage photographs to whoever signs off.

One Dubai fit-out firm describes procurement in four phases, keeping samples and finishes in line with the design and checking installation readiness before anything is delivered. Art fits best when it joins at the elevation stage, once the walls are measured. Send us one line per wall: the space, its width, the ceiling height, a photo or drawing and the finish you want. We reply with a design for each wall, from some 1,300 catalogue works or drawn for your brief, and a quote, usually within one business day.

Stage photographs go straight to whoever signs off, the designer, the facilities manager or the chairman's office, and the next stage starts only after their yes. Every canvas arrives labelled with its room and position, with a packing list, and its code stays on file for the next floor or branch. Book the delivery like any fit-out item: installers report that Dubai towers want a building-management NOC at least three days ahead and a service-lift booking, with separate gate passes in free zones such as DIFC, DMCC and JAFZA.

Each canvas can travel stretched and ready to hang, framed, or rolled; a rolled canvas, the lightest and most economical way to send a large painting, arrives without stretcher bars, and any local framer can stretch it for you.

  • Rolled

The lightest and most economical way to travel; it arrives without stretcher bars.

  • Stretched or framed

Arrives ready to hang, framed in gold, silver, black, white or wood if you like; heavily textured and plaster work always travels this way.

Office wall art in the UAE FAQs

Do we need an art consultant to buy art for a UAE office?

Not for a fit-out scheme. Your designer or office manager can send us the wall schedule, and we propose a design and size for each wall. For a named collection built over years, a gallery or advisor is the right partner; if you already work with one, we paint to their drawings, sizes and palette.

Can we order the same painting for every branch or clinic?

Yes. Every design keeps its code on file, so the next branch can order the same work at the same size, or at a size that suits its own wall. Each canvas is painted by hand and checked against the one you approved. Volume pricing starts at ten pieces, and each address ships as its own order.

How long does office art take to reach Dubai or Abu Dhabi?

About 10 days to paint, then 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS express to Dubai, Abu Dhabi or any other emirate. Larger orders may travel by air or sea freight; we choose the best route for your address and confirm the shipping cost before dispatch. Leave a few days for the building's NOC and lift booking.

Are figurative paintings acceptable in a UAE office?

In a private office, that is the company's choice. For receptions, waiting areas and anything public-facing, choose abstraction, landscape or geometry. A law-firm summary of the 2024 exhibitions law calls nudity strictly prohibited, and one Dubai art fair's 2026 rules also exclude religious symbols and political themes.

How does a company pay for an office art order?

Half upfront against a proforma invoice, so painting can start, and the other half once your approver signs off the photograph of the finished piece, before it ships. Each order is priced for its sizes and finishes; your quote usually arrives within one business day, and we are glad to suggest where a size or finish could save.
