Wall art in Dubai, from Marina apartments to Palm villas
iHomeArt paints wall art for Dubai by hand and to order: original canvases for apartments in the Marina, Downtown and Business Bay, villas on the Palm and in Dubai Hills, and the offices and hotels between them, each painted to the size of its wall. This page answers what is particular to Dubai: what a glass-walled tower flat or a double-height villa void needs, which palette suits each community, and how a large canvas gets past the service lift.

What wall art suits a Dubai apartment in the Marina, Downtown or Business Bay?
One generous canvas on the solid wall the glass leaves you, usually 100–150 cm wide, a tall piece for the entrance and, in a penthouse with a double-height living room, a vertical work of 2 metres or more.
Dubai's towers are sold on their views, and the view takes a wall. In a typical Downtown or Marina flat the living room faces the floor-to-ceiling glass, so the art goes on the solid wall opposite or beside it, and in the entrance corridor. Two-bedroom listings in Downtown include flats of about 1,100 to 1,650 sq ft, and Marina one-bedrooms start at around 660 sq ft: rooms where one well-sized canvas does more than several small frames.
Higher floors change the scale. One branded building in Business Bay advertises living-room ceilings of up to 4 metres, and apartments at One at Palm Jumeirah have double-height living areas. There the wall is tall rather than wide: a vertical canvas of 2 to 2.5 metres, or a stacked pair. A DIFC duplex 75 floors up shows the collector's version, with a large work in the entry and a living room lined with big canvases on white walls.
If the flat is a holiday home, choose calm subjects that photograph well in daylight; more on art for serviced apartments.
Which walls in a Dubai villa need the largest paintings?
The double-height ones: the entrance or stair void and the formal reception, which on the Palm, in Emirates Hills and in many newer family villas need canvases of 2 metres or more, larger than most shops stock.
Dubai builds height into its villas, and not only at the top of the market. One Palm Jumeirah villa range comes in nine layouts, among them a 'Central Gallery' plan with a double-height foyer through the middle of the house and a 'Grand Majlis' plan. Emirates Hills houses are custom-built and commonly pass 15,000 sq ft. Further inland, a four-bedroom villa in Arabian Ranches 2 lists a double-height ceiling over its main living space, and the same feature appears in Villanova townhouses and Dubai Hills apartments.
That void is the first wall guests see and the hardest to fill from a shop. One Dubai resident looking for a painting the size of a large television found the furniture stores' stock on the smaller side; a stair wall 5 metres high asks for far more. Give it a vertical canvas of 2 metres or more, hung so it reads from the front door and from the landing, or two canvases stacked as one; then give the formal reception a panoramic piece or a panel set across the main seating wall. Sizes room by room are in the UAE size guide, and whole-house orders on villa projects.
Which wall art styles suit Dubai homes, from the Palm to the Green Community?
Three, broadly: warm minimal sand and bronze in most new villas, gold with sea blue on the Palm, and bright, personal art on white walls in collectors' homes; choose the one your stone, floors and fabrics already speak.
One Dubai design studio describes the city's villas as warm minimal: statement stone and European furniture in bone, sand and greige with bronze detail. In rooms like these, texture does the work that colour does elsewhere, which is why relief and palette-knife canvases sit so well in them. On the Palm the sea comes in: one 865 m² villa there runs gold through every room and pairs it with blue in the living room, with cushions chosen to pick out the painting.
Then there are the collectors' homes, where white walls are the backdrop and the art brings the colour. A designer's villa in the Green Community is pink and blue throughout and hung with large, colourful abstracts she painted herself, because, she says, vivid colour suits Dubai's bright skies. A Victory Heights villa is white inside and out, with tactile 3D and resin works and pops of mustard, blush and emerald.

Where can you see art in Dubai before choosing your own?
In Alserkal Avenue in Al Quoz all year, at Art Dubai each spring, along DIFC's sculpture trail in winter and in hotels that hang local artists; go for ideas, then have the size your wall needs painted.
Dubai keeps its galleries close together. Alserkal Avenue, the warehouse district in Al Quoz, gathers 25 galleries and creative spaces. DIFC describes itself as home to the UAE's largest public art collection, with a sculpture park and galleries, and its fourth sculpture trail opened in November 2025 with more than 50 works by 20 artists. Art Dubai, the city's main fair, drew more than 25,000 visitors to Madinat Jumeirah in 2026 and returns on 7–11 April 2027. Hotels double as galleries too: Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown hangs more than 200 original works by Emirati and UAE-based artists, all for sale to guests.
The work of a living artist you love is worth buying from the artist or their gallery, at the size it was made. For the walls around it, photograph what caught your eye and send it to us: we suggest catalogue designs in the same spirit, or design one for you, in your size and palette. An artist's work still in copyright needs the rights holder's permission before we paint a version of it. More on paintings from your own image.
When should the art come into a Dubai villa or fit-out project?
At design stage, alongside the joinery and lighting rather than after handover, so each canvas is sized to its wall and painted in time for the move-in.
One studio that designs the city's largest villas describes an integrated art programme as standard specification for its clients, with existing collections accommodated at design stage and new commissions developed alongside the architecture. In Al Sufouh, another designed a three-storey villa with double-height living and dining rooms around the owners' collection, taking a Paris sculptor's studio as its reference. Left until after handover, the art has to fit walls that were never planned for it.
If you are the designer, send us the elevations, the mood board and photographs of the fabric and stone in daylight. We suggest catalogue designs or design pieces for the scheme, and paint them to your sizes. The stage photographs go straight to whoever approves, you or your client, and every canvas arrives labelled by room with a packing list, so hanging day follows your drawings. If you are the owner, send a photo of each wall before the furniture order goes in, and the art is planned with it. More on art for interior designers.
What wall art do Dubai's offices and hotels hang?
Dubai's financial offices favour warm neutral fit-outs, which suit one large, warm-toned canvas to a wall; for a hotel lobby, consider texture and gilded relief, as The Lana did, and keep calmer painted work for the rooms.
Much of Dubai's office space is still to come: about 24.2 million sq ft is scheduled for 2026–2030, led by Business Bay, Meydan, DIFC and Jumeirah Lake Towers. Banking and finance was the largest source of office demand in late 2025, and its fit-outs set the tone: DIFC's own offices pair a warm neutral palette with pastel green and bold red accents. Against those warm neutrals, one large canvas in a warm palette holds a reception or boardroom wall better than a row of small frames. More on UAE offices and institutions.
One of Dubai's newest luxury hotel lobbies is built from material rather than paint: The Lana in Business Bay opened with more than 50 commissioned pieces, among them sand portraits, a gilded honeycomb relief, glass works and an etched gold-metal wall. For a lobby brief, textured and gilded relief canvases speak that language better than smooth abstracts; guest rooms take calmer painted work. Buyers and scale by space are on UAE hotels and restaurants.
How does a large painting reach a Dubai tower or gated villa?
Book it like a furniture delivery, with the building's NOC and the service lift arranged a few days ahead, and choose rolled, stretched or framed by the size of the lift and the doors, not only the wall.
Installers working in Dubai say towers and gated communities, from Business Bay to Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills and the Palm, ask for a building-management NOC at least three days before the delivery, plus a service-lift booking, and business districts such as DIFC issue their own gate passes. So before you choose a format, measure the service lift, the corridor turns and the front door as well as the wall.
- Rolled is the lightest and most economical way to travel and passes through any lift.
- Stretched or framed (gold, silver, black, white or wood) arrives ready to hang. Heavily textured and plaster work travels this way, so check that it fits the lift.
- Panels solve a wall wider than anything that will pass the door: a two- or three-panel set hangs as one painting.
Once you have approved the final photograph, we arrange the express shipment to your Dubai address and confirm its cost before dispatch, so you can book the NOC and the lift for the day it lands.
Each canvas can travel stretched and ready to hang, framed, or rolled; a rolled canvas, the lightest and most economical way to send a large painting, arrives without stretcher bars, and any local framer can stretch it for you.
Wall art in Dubai FAQs
Do you have a showroom in Dubai where I can see your paintings?
We work from photographs rather than a showroom, which means you see your own canvas rather than a sample: photos or video at every stage, the next stage only after you approve, and a final photograph before it ships. To judge the texture, ask for a side-lit photo.
I furnish holiday homes in Dubai. Can you paint the same design for several flats?
Yes. Each canvas is painted by hand from the same design and palette, so the pieces match closely without being prints. Volume pricing starts at ten pieces, every canvas is labelled by unit with a packing list, and we keep the order codes on file so a later flat can be painted to match. Each delivery address is its own order.
Can you paint the Dubai skyline or the view from my balcony?
Yes. Send a photograph you took or have permission to use, with the width of the wall, and we tell you how it will translate to canvas and suggest the size, format and finish. It is painted by hand, and you approve each stage from photographs. The design can be kept exclusive to you if you ask before we start.
Do you hang the paintings in Dubai?
We paint, pack and ship; the hanging is done locally, by your designer or fit-out team, a framer, or one of the installation firms that cover all seven emirates and work with building NOCs and lift bookings. Stretched and framed canvases arrive ready to hang, each labelled by room with a packing list.
Is a painting made to order dearer than a canvas from a Dubai home store?
A printed canvas from a home chain usually costs less than a hand-painted original. What you get for the difference is a painting at the exact size of your wall, in your palette, painted by hand and approved by you stage by stage. Each order is priced for its sizes and finishes, and your quote usually arrives within one business day.
I am moving to Dubai. Can I order the art before I arrive?
Yes. Everything runs on WhatsApp, the quote form or email, so you can plan from anywhere: send the floor plan or photos of the walls, approve each stage from photographs, and we ship to your Dubai address once you confirm it. Painting takes about 10 days, then 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS express; book the building's NOC for the delivery day.
