Wall art in Doha, from Pearl apartments to Al Dafna villas
iHomeArt paints wall art for Doha by hand and to order: original canvases for tower flats on The Pearl and in Lusail, villas in Al Waab, Al Dafna and Onaiza, and the offices and hotels of West Bay and Msheireb, each painted to the size of its wall. In Doha your district tells you most of what a painting needs, from the sea light of a tower flat and the tall wall of a duplex to the majlis and halls of a family house.

Which wall art suits your part of Doha?
Your district sets the brief: sea light and glass in the towers, a tall wall in a duplex, a handful of walls in a compound villa and a full set in a family house.
Doha is where most of Qatar lives: over 80% of the country's population is in the city and its suburbs. A 2023 study of Qatari housing sorts the city's newer homes into high-density districts, luxury waterfront developments and gated suburban compounds; around them sit the established villa districts, where families build large houses with a majlis of their own. Each gives a painting a different wall, a different light and a different number of rooms to fill, so start from your address.

Sea-view flats on The Pearl and in Lusail: where should the painting go?
On a side wall out of direct sun rather than opposite the glass, in tones that pick up the water: about 100–150 cm on the sofa wall, and a tall vertical where a duplex opens to double height.
The Pearl is an island of towers: Porto Arabia alone has 31 of them, with some 4,700 apartments, and one penthouse listing there leads with its floor-to-ceiling windows. In a flat like this the view is the brightest thing in the room, so the wall facing the glass is the hardest place for a painting; a side wall, out of direct sun, shows it better and keeps the colours fresh. Pick up the water rather than compete with it, in blues, pearl greys, sand and soft gold or a textured seascape, at 100–150 cm (39–59 in) for a sofa wall of four to five metres seen from three or four.
The duplex is the exception. In one low-rise Fox Hills building a third of the units are duplexes, and a new scheme there sells its duplexes on double-height glazing. That wall wants a vertical of 200 cm (79 in) or more, or two canvases stacked, hung to read from the sofa and from the landing. See our tall vertical works.
How many paintings does a villa in Al Waab, Al Dafna or Onaiza need?
Three to five for a compound villa; ten or more for a family house, where the majlis, the entrance hall and the family halls each need a painting at their own scale.
Doha's villa districts come in two sizes. Al Waab is largely compound living: most five-bedroom villas listed there in September 2026 were compound villas of about 413 m² near Aspire Tower. Here the walls that matter are the living room, the stair and the dining room, then the main bedroom, and one palette carried through them makes the house feel finished. Family houses in Al Dafna and Onaiza are another scale: listings in the same month offered 1,100–1,150 m² with a pool and a lift.
Those houses are planned around guests. Listings advertise a majlis with its own entrance, pantry and bathroom; in one villa a 2023 study examined, the majlis and guest block equalled about 60% of the main house's footprint, and in another the largest room was the entrance hall, 10 × 5 m. Count the walls guests and family face, from the majlis and entrance hall to the family hall, dining room and suites, and you reach ten paintings quickly, which is where volume pricing starts. Majlis layouts are on Qatar's villas and majlis; whole-house orders on art for whole villas.
The majlis wall
One wide, calm piece above the seating, hung for seated eyes: geometry, abstraction, landscape or calligraphy rather than figures.
The entrance hall
Often the largest room and the first wall a guest sees: a tall vertical or a pair, sized from across the hall.
A villa you rent
A canvas is yours to keep: choose sizes that will suit your next living room as well as this one.

Building a villa on Qetaifan Islands or in Lusail: when should you choose the art?
At the drawing stage, while you can still decide which walls carry a painting and light them for it; the canvases themselves can follow with the furniture order.
Much of Doha's new villa supply is being built rather than bought finished. On Qetaifan Islands owners buy a plot and design their own house, with no set villa designs, and most villas listed there in September 2026 were sold off-plan. Since June 2026 villas may rise to 16 m, up from 13 m, so stair voids and receptions are growing taller. One design firm puts a new villa at six to nine months from design to furniture installation.
Paintings tend to come last: one Gulf guide to majlis décor lists ten priorities, from seating and lighting to curtains and air conditioning, and folds paintings into the accessories. Planning them with the house gives each one a light, a clear wall and the right size, and with about 10 days to paint, the art is never the long item on the schedule.
- On the drawingsMark each wall that will carry a painting, with its width and the ceiling height.
- With the lighting planAim a light at each painting wall, and keep switches, vents and speakers clear of it.
- With the furniture orderSend us the walls and the fabrics; approve the designs, and a first canvas if you want a sample.
- Before handoverThe canvases arrive stretched or framed, each labelled by room, with a packing list.
Which palette suits a home in West Bay, Lusail or Msheireb?
Take your lead from the district: cool blue-green and platinum in West Bay, sand, sky and sea in Lusail and on The Pearl, pattern and florals in Msheireb; anywhere in Doha, a quiet room with one strong painting is the safest start.
Doha's newest hotels show how differently the districts dress. Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay pairs pale marble and blue mohair with platinum and jade-green panels. In Lusail, Rosewood Doha hangs Qatari artists' abstractions of desert light and photographs of the coast. Msheireb, the rebuilt old centre, leans to pattern: the first Liberty Home showroom outside Britain opened at Msheireb Galleria in October 2025, and Mandarin Oriental, Doha re-dressed four rooms and suites in fabrics mixing bold florals and layered textures with geometric and stripe details.
Msheireb's flats have the room for it: in one building there, two-bedroom apartments run from 143 to 180 m². Not every client wants pattern: the founders of one Doha interiors studio call neutral palettes and material honesty 'two trends that never go out of style'. The two meet well: keep the walls and the large furniture quiet, and let one painting carry the colour, a dense botanical in a Msheireb living room or a pale seascape in a Lusail one. Browse floral and botanical works or seascapes.

Where can you find ideas for wall art in Doha?
In its museums and public spaces: Qatar Museums has placed art from the airport to Lusail, and a photo of what you liked is the best brief you can send us.
Doha puts a great deal of art where people pass. Qatar Museums counted 11 public works at Hamad International Airport, 8 at the National Museum of Qatar, 7 in Souq Waqif and Msheireb, 6 in West Bay and Katara and 4 in Lusail in 2024. Al Sadd Metro Station carries murals of traditional Qatari scenes, falcons, camels and geometric patterns. The Fire Station, a 1982 civil-defence headquarters reopened by Qatar Museums in 2014, is a contemporary art space and residency, and calligraphy has a public place too: Fatma Al Sharshani's circular 'Al Noor' mural at Qatar Post Park draws on the poetry of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani.
Photograph what you respond to, a palette at the Museum of Islamic Art, a texture at Mathaf, a mural on your commute, and send it to us: we suggest catalogue designs in the same spirit, or design one for your wall. Your view, your villa or your family's crest can be painted too (see paintings from your own image); for a verse, start from a calligrapher's artwork, used with their permission, and have a native reader check the stage photographs. A work still in copyright needs the rights holder's permission.
Opening an office or hotel in Doha: what goes on the walls first?
A work by a Qatari or Doha-based artist on the wall people photograph, then canvases painted for the reception, corridors, boardroom and rooms in the same palette.
Doha's business map is moving, and a move leaves every wall bare at once. Grade-A office space splits 57.9% in Doha municipality and 42.1% in Lusail, and Msheireb is gathering headquarters: Qatar Airways announced a move to four interconnected towers there, and Qatar Tourism announced its own move in January 2026. The big schemes show how they are hung. By its architects' account, Qatar Petroleum's West Bay district, with 15 m entrance lobbies, commissioned local artists for its lobby and CEO-suite pieces, and The Ned Doha hangs more than 350 works by close to 100 regional artists, more than half of them living in Doha.
For a floor or a hotel of your own, hang a local artist's work, bought through a gallery or commissioned, on the wall people photograph, and have the rest painted to size in the same palette, room type by room type, with one sample first if you want it. How do you order wall art in Doha from iHomeArt?
Send a photo of the wall on WhatsApp, approve each stage of your canvas from photographs, and choose rolled, stretched or framed to suit how it reaches your door.
WhatsApp is the most used platform among Qatari nationals, and it is the quickest way to reach us too: a photo of the wall, its width and the ceiling height are enough to start. Your quote usually arrives within one business day, with a size suggestion and, if you like, a shortlist from some 1,300 catalogue designs; then you see your own canvas in photographs or video at each stage, and approve each one before the next begins.
DHL, for one, notifies residential receivers in Qatar by email or SMS before delivery. Larger orders may go by air or sea freight, with the route and the shipping cost confirmed before dispatch. The country overview is in the Qatar wall art guide.
Each canvas can travel stretched and ready to hang, framed, or rolled; a rolled canvas, the lightest and most economical way to send a large painting, arrives without stretcher bars, and any local framer can stretch it for you.
Wall art in Doha FAQs
How long does a painting take to reach Doha?
About 10 days to paint, then 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS express to Doha, Lusail, The Pearl, Al Wakrah or any other address in Qatar. Larger orders may travel by air or sea freight instead; we choose the best route for your address and confirm the shipping cost before anything leaves.
Will a canvas cope with Doha's sun and air conditioning?
Yes, with sensible placement. Hang it out of direct sun and away from the air-conditioning outlet, and draw the blinds on west-facing glass in summer. Acrylic on canvas is our standard and oil is available on request; to keep either clean, dust it with a dry cloth and avoid sprays.
Can I order one painting for a rented flat on The Pearl or in West Bay?
Yes. The minimum order is one piece, so a single canvas for a sofa or bedroom wall is welcome, and it can double as a sample if you plan more. The painting is yours outright and moves with you. Volume pricing starts at ten pieces, for a villa set, an office floor or several flats furnished together.
Can you match the colours of my majlis fabrics or marble?
Yes. Send photographs of the fabric, stone or wall paint taken in daylight, ideally beside a sheet of white paper, and the palette is mixed to them. You see the colours on your canvas in the stage photographs and approve them before the next stage starts.
How do I pay for a painting from Doha?
Half upfront against a proforma invoice, so painting can start, and the other half once you approve the photograph of the finished piece, before it ships. Quotes usually arrive within one business day of your message on WhatsApp, through the quote form or by email.
Can I return a painting if it does not suit the room?
Every piece is painted to order and you approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it ships, so finished pieces are not returnable. Damage in transit is rare, under 0.01% of pieces; if it happens, send us photos and we take it up with the carrier and work out a solution with you, such as a replacement or a refund.
