About this painting

A long band of ivory cloud drifts across the middle of a pale greige sky, with streaks of pale gold caught along its crest as if the sun sat just behind it. The band is the only place the paint stands up from the surface, built in thick, broken ridges of white and soft lilac-grey with the gold laid over their tops.

Above and below, the ground is smooth and almost bare: blush and oatmeal blended so softly that the canvas reads nearly white from a few steps away. Contrast is kept very low, which leaves the gold to carry the picture.

WA#369 is an original wabi-sabi landscape painting showing soft ivory cloud band with pale gold light, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 11 standard sizes run from 36×18 in (91×46 cm) to 100×50 in (254×127 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Because the ground is so pale, it needs a wall at least a shade darker than itself, such as dove grey, putty or warm stone, to keep its edges. On brilliant white the outline dissolves and only the gold band remains. Hang the band near the eye level of someone seated, and light it with a pair of narrow downlights: the gold strokes pick up a direct beam and glow in the evening.

Specified for lobby & reception, guest room & suite, living room and bedroom; it reads as peaceful and romantic.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for WA#369 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 36×18 in to 100×50 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on WA#369 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

What is the band across the middle of WA#369 meant to be?

Most viewers read it as a bank of cloud at sunrise or sunset, with light caught along its upper edge. It is loose enough to suggest sea mist or a snowy ridge as well, which is part of why it settles quietly into a room without announcing a subject.

How does WA#369 change between daylight and evening lamplight?

In daylight the canvas is mostly ivory, blush and soft grey, and the gold looks like a thin seam. Under warm evening light the whole ground turns creamier and the gold along the cloud band brightens, so the picture moves from cool morning to late glow.

Is WA#369 a print or an original painting?

An original. WA#369 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of WA#369 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
