About this painting

A man in a navy suit and cap, a woman in a pale mint dress and a small black dog stand with their backs to the viewer, looking across a vast peach field toward a red-brick manor house. The house sits in a narrow band near the top, all stepped gables and small white-capped turrets, framed by round dark-green trees under a teal sky with a scatter of birds.

Almost two thirds of the canvas is stippled peach field dotted with low dark shrubs. The man keeps his hands clasped behind his back, the dog sits a little apart, and the paint is flat and matte throughout.

WA#476 is an original wabi-sabi figurative painting showing naive scene of a couple and a dog on a sandy field facing a red manor house, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Because the figures stand at the very bottom edge, hang it lower than usual, with the base near seat-back height, so viewers meet the couple at eye level and look up the field with them. It sits easily with tan leather, terracotta, sage and rattan, and suits a restaurant banquette wall, a bookshop or a family living room. The teal sky and peach field also bridge warm and cool schemes.

Specified for restaurant & bar, gallery & retail, living room and dining room; it reads as peaceful and cozy & warm.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for WA#476 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on WA#476 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Why are the couple and dog in WA#476 seen from behind?

Seen from behind, they become stand-ins for whoever is looking at the painting: you share their view of the manor instead of watching them. Illustrators and naive painters often use this device to make a scene feel like a remembered moment rather than a portrait.

What makes the field in WA#476 look so wide?

Scale and emptiness. The figures are tiny and placed at the very bottom, the house is compressed into a thin band near the top, and the stippled field between them is left almost bare, paling from apricot in the middle to soft rose at the bottom.

Is WA#476 a print or an original painting?

An original. WA#476 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of WA#476 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
