A single snow peak catches low sun, its summit and right flank turned gold, apricot and coral while the slopes beneath fall away into blue and violet shade. The sky is a deep cobalt, darker at the top, with orange cloud streaming in from the right and a lilac haze behind the summit.

The lit face is laid in broad, flat knife planes that read as fractured rock; lower down the strokes break into short choppy dabs of blue, white and rust, as if mist were drifting over the ridges.
