About this painting

Thick slabs of paint, laid with a palette knife, build a harbour at dusk: blocky sails in lemon, orange, peach and pink crowd the middle of the canvas against a sky made of overlapping blue tiles. A row of small cream and gold hulls sits along the waterline just below centre.

Beneath them the water is all horizontal ridges in cobalt and navy, broken by vertical drops of gold where lights reflect. Each knife stroke stands proud with a raised lip at its edge, and touches of rust brown at upper left and dusty rose at upper right warm the outer edges of the blue.

IA#1049 is an original impressionist seascape painting showing palette-knife harbour with boats and glowing reflections on water, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Downlights set close to the wall, common in corridors and bar fit-outs, graze the knife ridges and make the gold reflections glint, so it suits a lit alcove, a seafood restaurant or the wall behind a banquette. Navy velvet, brass and smoked oak pick up its colours. At the smaller sizes the slabs read as a tight mosaic; at the largest, single strokes are as wide as a hand and the harbour turns more abstract.

Specified for corridor & circulation, restaurant & bar, entryway & hallway and living room; it reads as bold and uplifting.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for IA#1049 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on IA#1049 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Are the shapes in the middle of IA#1049 boats?

They are best read as sails: tall blocks of yellow, orange and peach standing above a line of small hulls at the waterline. The painting stops short of drawing masts or rigging, so the harbour is suggested rather than described, and some viewers see a waterfront town instead.

How do the water ridges on IA#1049 respond to lighting?

Side light brings them out most. Each slab has a ridge where the knife lifted off, and the water is stacked from horizontal ridges like shingles, so raking light covers the lower half in fine shadow lines. Under flat light from the front the texture softens and colour takes over.

Is IA#1049 a print or an original painting?

An original. IA#1049 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of IA#1049 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
