Five broad poppy-like flowers open across a white ground, their petals sculpted so thickly that each one lifts and curls away from the canvas. A large white bloom with a yellow throat sits in front at the centre, ringed by coral and orange above, teal at left, deep magenta at right and tangerine at lower left.

Colour is blended inside each petal, orange into pink or turquoise into navy, so the raised edges and the hollows read in different tones. The upper left stays open, a pale plastered ground with a few raised sweeps, and thin dark stems descend to the lower edge.
