Office wall art in Saudi Arabia, painted to the theme of each floor

iHomeArt paints office wall art for Saudi Arabia by hand and to order: original canvases for headquarters, banks, ministries, clinics and serviced offices in Riyadh, Jeddah and across the Kingdom, each sized to its wall and painted to the theme of your floor. Most Saudi fit-outs begin by asking how to give the space a sense of place, and this guide carries that answer from the reception to the waiting room.

How do Saudi offices give their walls a sense of place?

By theming each floor on a Saudi region or landscape, from Najd's clay and triangles to the Red Sea's blues, and painting the art to that theme at the size of each wall.

Riyadh's recently published office fit-outs tell one story. EY's 15,000 m² office in KAFD follows a concept called 'The Evolution of Arabia'; Bain's regional headquarters on Level 41 of Building 1.15 draws on different regions of the Kingdom; the Ministry of Tourism gave each floor of its Diplomatic Quarter offices one of the 13 regions; and The Executive Centre named the floors of its KAFD workspace House of Sand, House of Oasis, House of Horizon and House of Breeze. An international law firm in Kingdom Centre takes its blues and greens from the rawasheen lattice windows of the Hijaz.

Most of that identity is built into joinery, screens and rugs, which leaves the walls free for paintings that carry the theme further. Decide the theme for each floor, then the palette, then the pieces. In Riyadh the Najdi triangle already appears in offices, malls and airports as an unofficial emblem, so geometry in sand, clay and gold reads as local at once. More in Saudi taste and styles.

What should office wall art in a Saudi reception show, and how large should it be?

Landscape, calligraphy, geometry or calm abstraction, at the scale of the lobby; keep people and animals for private offices, and leave the flag and the shahada off the canvas.

A reception is seen by everyone who comes through the door, so choose for the most conservative visitor you expect. Many Saudi organisations keep people and animals out of their public rooms and choose calligraphy, poetry, or landscapes of trees, mountains and rivers for the walls visitors see. Figurative Saudi painting is collected at the top of the market, but that is a private choice, not a lobby one. The flag carries the shahada and is not normally used on merchandise, so it stays off decorative canvases.

Scale follows the building. W Riyadh in KAFD anchors its lobby with a six-metre tapestry by Abdulnasser Gharem, and the reception desk at JW Marriott Riyadh is seven metres wide. Behind a desk of that kind, a canvas of 2.5 metres or more, or a two- or three-panel run, holds the wall; the reception of a single office floor usually takes 1.5–2 metres. Room-by-room sizes are in the Saudi size guide.

Which painting suits a boardroom or an executive floor?

One calm horizontal on the wall the chair faces, about two-thirds of that wall's width and quiet enough not to compete with the screen, then one piece per executive office in the floor's palette.

Leadership now gets its own floors: EY gave three floors of its south tower in KAFD to regional leadership. The boardrooms published so far are restrained; a Swiss bank's Riyadh office pairs a marble table with a mesh ceiling and saves its one Saudi motif for a rug in the cafeteria. That leaves the wall for a painting, and asks for one that does not shout.

Deep navy, charcoal and textured plaster sit well against glass and marble, and a landscape, a mountain ridge or a line of dunes, gives the room depth without a figure in it. Hang the centre at seated eye level and keep the piece off the wall behind the screen. On an executive floor, give each office its own work in the same palette; where guests are received in a majlis-style room, treat it as a majlis, with one wide piece above the seating. See art for meeting rooms and boardrooms.

How do you plan office wall art for a whole floor, or ten of them?

As a series: one palette per floor, a rhythm of 1–1.5 metre canvases along corridors and open-plan walls, and a schedule that numbers every piece by floor and position so the next floor can follow in the same hand.

Saudi offices are fitted out floor by floor and tower by tower. EY's regional headquarters spans 14 floors across two towers for 1,900 people, one brokerage counts about 1.6 million m² of offices in KAFD's 94 towers, and Riyadh aims to add 4.8 million m² of office space by 2030. Serviced-office operators repeat one brief across many sites: one runs nine centres in Riyadh and says its Jeddah centre is furnished with original artwork.

Plan a corridor as a sequence, not a row of single purchases: three to six works of 90–150 cm in one palette, with the bolder piece in the breakout area where teams gather. An order of ten pieces or more reaches our volume pricing; every canvas is labelled by floor, room and position with a packing list, and the order codes stay on file, so the next floor or the next centre can have the same series painted again. See corridor art and art for office landlords.

When should art be ordered in a Saudi office fit-out, and how does it work with iHomeArt?

As soon as the wall finishes and joinery are fixed, inside the fit-out months: send the plan, approve each stage from photographs, and the canvases arrive with the furniture rather than after the move.

The fit-out window is short. KAFD leases typically run five to ten years with two to four months rent-free to fit out, one brokerage reports, and a Jeddah leasing broker allows about eighteen weeks from a shell-and-core brief to an occupied desk. Art is easily left out of the package: the contractor's account of Saudi National Bank's 20,000 m² of office floors in KAFD describes the blinds and a geometric ceiling, but no artworks. Budget the walls with the furniture, not after handover.

Start with the floor plan or photographs of the walls, with their widths and ceiling heights. We propose sizes and a shortlist from some 1,300 designs, or design pieces for your brief, and paint one sample first if you like. Stage photographs go straight to whoever approves, the designer, the facilities manager or a partner, and the next stage starts only after their yes.

Each canvas can travel stretched and ready to hang, framed, or rolled; a rolled canvas, the lightest and most economical way to send a large painting, arrives without stretcher bars, and any local framer can stretch it for you.

How do Saudi banks, ministries and institutions buy art?

Increasingly from Saudi artists for the pieces visitors remember, as the Social Development Bank's Art Bank does for its headquarters and branches, with made-to-order canvases carrying the same palette through the rest of the building.

The clearest institutional programme is Art Bank, launched in 2022 by the Social Development Bank with the Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts. Its first phase decorated the bank's Riyadh headquarters with Saudi paintings and crafts, and Art Bank 7, announced in July 2025, buys work for seven major branches. By September 2025 more than 2,540 artists from 221 cities and regions had submitted over 6,730 works, and the platform names government bodies and companies decorating their headquarters as its buyers.

For a bank branch, a ministry or a university, a practical split follows: a Saudi artist's work, bought through Art Bank or a gallery, for the wall that represents the institution, and hand-painted canvases sized to every other wall in the same palette. Some institutions make their own identity the art: Al Rajhi Bank's headquarters tower repeats the bank's pattern at several scales. A pattern or crest like that can be painted too; see corporate artwork for headquarters.

Can your logo, your building or a line of Arabic poetry be painted for the office?

Yes: send us the image, whether a logo, crest, brand pattern, a render of your building or a calligrapher's artwork, and we tell you the size, format and finish it will paint best at.

Words already carry weight on Saudi office walls. A consultancy's Riyadh office holds a calligraphy sculpture by Hazem Kurdali based on poetry by Prince Khalid Al Faisal, with glass screens carrying lines of poetry chosen by the staff. Companies tell their own story too: one Jeddah head office greets visitors with graphics of its corporate history. Painted rather than printed, that story gains texture and presence.

For a verse, a motto or your company's name in Arabic, start from a calligrapher's artwork, used with their permission, so the letterforms are right before any paint goes on, and ask a native reader to check the stage photographs. For a logo, a crest, a skyline or a render of your new building, send it with the wall size and we suggest how it will translate to canvas. You need to own the image or have permission to use it, and a design can be kept exclusive to you if you ask before we start. More on paintings from your own image.

What wall art suits clinics, hospitals and universities in Saudi Arabia?

Calm subjects without people or animals, the sea, mountains, palms, flowers and soft abstraction, sized to the seating below them and repeated in one palette across many rooms.

Healthcare and education hold some of the largest wall counts in the Kingdom. King Faisal Specialist Hospital's main Riyadh campus, open since 1975, is listed with about 1,600 beds by one medical-travel guide; Jeddah's Headquarters Business Park houses clinics alongside offices and restaurants; and a royal order of March 2026 established Riyadh University for the Arts, which aims for 30,000 students by 2040.

In a waiting room, people sit for a long time facing one wall. Choose subjects that settle rather than excite: a sea horizon, a mountain valley, palms, flowers or quiet texture. Centre the painting over the seating at about two-thirds of its length, and keep one palette per department. Brighter florals suit a paediatric or dental clinic; silver and grey suit a consultant's corridor. Care is simple: dust with a dry cloth and use no sprays. See hospital artwork and calming art.

Office wall art in Saudi Arabia FAQs

How long does office art take to reach Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam?

About 10 days to paint, then 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS express to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Al Khobar or any other address in the Kingdom. Larger orders for a whole floor may travel by air or sea freight instead; we choose the best route for your address and confirm the shipping cost before anything leaves.

What is the largest painting you can make for an office lobby?

Send us a photo of the wall with its width, the ceiling height and how the piece will reach it, by goods lift, stair or door.

Can the paintings follow our brand colours?

Yes. Send photographs of your brand material, the carpet, the upholstery or the stone, taken in daylight next to a sheet of white paper, and the palette is mixed to them. You see the colours on the canvas in the stage photographs and approve them before the next stage starts.

Can we order one painting first, for the boardroom, before the rest of the floor?

Yes. The minimum order is one piece, so a sample is simply a first order: we paint one canvas, your team approves it, and the rest of the floor follows in the same hand and palette, each piece checked against the one you approved.

How does payment work for a company order?

Half upfront against a proforma invoice, so painting can start, and the other half once you approve the photograph of the finished piece, before it ships. Each piece is priced for its size and finish; your quote usually arrives within one business day, and volume pricing starts at ten pieces.

What if a painting is damaged on the way, or our scheme changes?

Every piece is painted to order and you approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it ships, so finished pieces are not returnable. Damage in transit is rare, under 0.01% of pieces; if it happens, send us photos and we take it up with the carrier and work out a solution with you, such as a replacement or a refund.
