Wall art in Jeddah: hand-painted canvases for the Red Sea city

iHomeArt paints wall art for Jeddah by hand and to order: original canvases for villas in Al Shati, Obhur and Al Murjan, apartments and residences on the Corniche, and the city's hotels and offices, painted to the width of your wall and the colours of your room. Jeddah lives beside the Red Sea and welcomes colour on its walls, so this guide starts with the palette, then plans the salons of a north Jeddah villa and sizes the walls of its towers.

What colours suit wall art in a Jeddah home?

A calm room with one confident painting: coral, garden green, sea blue or sun yellow on the canvas, set against white, sand or grey walls, rather than a beige painting on a beige wall.

Jeddah's houses are finished calmly. One Jeddah contractor lists the current look as simple modern lines, calm colours and an open plan between lounge and kitchen, and the classic register runs to grey and gold, as in one Jeddah interior of 2014 that paired the two with coffee tones and fine gold lines. Against either base, the painting is where the colour goes.

The city's own art points the same way. Ibrahim Bugis's 36-metre mural at King Abdulaziz International Airport, his reading of Jeddah and its identity, runs in Red Sea blues and reds with palms and arabesque. Hotels follow: the bar at The Jeddah EDITION is fitted in teal velvet and lacquered rosewood. So take one colour already in the room, a teal cushion, a coral rug or the sea in the window, and let the canvas carry it at full strength; a grey-and-gold salon takes texture in cream and gold instead. The Kingdom-wide picture is in our Saudi Arabia wall art guide.

How do you plan wall art for a villa in Al Shati, Al Murjan or Obhur?

Lounge by lounge: a north Jeddah villa has several salons and living rooms rather than one, so give the guest salons one shared palette and the family living room the painting you chose for yourself.

North Jeddah villas are planned around several lounges. An Al Basateen villa listed in July 2026 has three living rooms downstairs, a family living room upstairs and an annex with a living room of its own; a waterfront Al Shati villa has a men's salon, a women's salon and a large dining room on its ground floor; another Al Shati villa lists six lounges. The rooms are generous: five Jeddah villa living rooms measured for a university study ran 6–7 m wide and 8–13 m long.

Spend where you live. In a national housing survey, 77% of Saudi respondents wanted separate sitting rooms for women and men, yet most said their guest reception rooms were used once a month or less. Let the salons share one palette, so the guest side reads as one house, and save the painting you will look at every evening for the family living room. Room by room, see Saudi villas and majlis and art for whole villas.

What size of wall art fits a Jeddah home, from a Corniche flat to a villa salon?

Follow the home, not the shop: about 90–150 cm in a tower flat, 150–200 cm in a new community villa, and 2–3 metres or a set of panels in the salons of an established villa or a large Corniche residence.

In one seafront tower in Al Shati, one-bedroom flats are planned from about 70 m², and Emaar Residences at Jeddah Gate runs from 69 to 289 m². At the top, the Four Seasons Private Residences on the Corniche were announced at 300 to 1,065 m² each, and Raffles Residences is listed by a broker at roughly 375 to 1,204 m², with movable mashrabiya screens. ROSHN's ALAROUS villas sit between them: the VL1 has 332 m² of floor area and what ROSHN calls one of the largest majlis in its range.

Two features of the city decide where the canvas hangs. Corniche residences are marketed on floor-to-ceiling windows, so the painting belongs on the solid wall facing the glass, out of direct sun. And where mashrabiya screens or carved joinery already pattern a room, a canvas with broad shapes and one clear colour reads better than a second busy pattern. For the widest salon walls, see panoramic paintings.

When should you choose art for a new home in ALAROUS, Jeddah Central or a Corniche tower?

While the curtains, sofas and stone are being chosen, so the palette is fixed once and the canvases arrive with the furniture rather than months after you move in.

Much of Jeddah is about to be handed over. About 18,000 new homes are forecast to complete in the city in 2026 and 22,000 in 2027. ROSHN targeted the first ALAROUS handovers for the third quarter of 2026; Jeddah Central's developer plans 17,000 homes on the waterfront, with the first phase targeted for the end of 2027; and Jeddah Tower, 113 floors high by September 2026, is expected to complete in August 2028, with 97 Four Seasons residences on its lower levels.

A new home is the easiest moment to plan art: the walls are bare and the samples are on the table. Send the floor plan or a photo of each wall with the fabric and stone you have chosen, and we suggest sizes and designs for the rooms that need them.

  • No walls yet?

A floor plan with the wall widths and ceiling heights is enough to size each canvas.

  • Fix the palette once

Photograph fabric, stone and paint in daylight, beside a sheet of white paper, and the colours are mixed to them.

Can you have Al Balad, the Corniche or your family's old house painted?

Yes: send us the photograph and the wall size, and we suggest the size, format and finish it will paint best at; for a salon, keep to architecture, the sea and the city, and leave people for private rooms.

Jeddah has long painted itself. Safeya Binzagr recorded traditional Jeddawi life, and her house in Al-Gharbiyah, now Darat Safeya Binzagr, shows those paintings beside heritage garments. At the 21,39 Jeddah Arts exhibition of 2022, several artists drew on Al Balad, and one evoked the Kiswa of the Kaaba in embroidery. The same subjects make fine commissions: the roshan-fronted houses of Al Balad, a carved door, the Corniche at dusk, the family's first house.

Choose by the room. Coral-stone facades, the sea and the skyline suit a salon, where every guest sits with them; street scenes with people are for private rooms. A 2026 exhibition in Jeddah conveyed the spirit of worship through architecture, textiles and calligraphy rather than figures of worshippers; for a verse, start from a calligrapher's artwork used with their permission, and have a native reader check each stage photograph. You need to own your photograph or have permission to use it, and the design can stay exclusive to you if you ask before we start. More on paintings from your own image.

Where can you see and buy wall art in Jeddah?

Galleries in Al Rawdah and Al Balad, Hayy Jameel and the city's exhibitions sell the piece you collect, and mall stores the quick standard size; for a wall wider than about 2 metres, or a set in your own palette, you are commissioning.

Jeddah's commercial galleries gather in Al Rawdah and near Tahlia Street, with others in Al Sharafiyah and Al Nuzhah. In 2026 one gallery opened a second space in the restored Al-Falah School in Al Balad. Hayy Jameel in Al Muhammadiyah adds galleries and makers' studios, the House of Islamic Arts at Jeddah Park shows calligraphy and Kiswa textiles, and one gallery's winter show, 'A Painting in Every Home', reached its sixteenth edition in 2024 with small originals by more than 100 Saudi and Arab artists.

Each suits a particular painting: a named Saudi artist's work, or a small original you can carry home, since such shows keep each work to about 50 cm, as one Saudi critic notes. Home stores in the malls sell printed and factory canvases that rarely pass 2 metres. An 8-metre salon wall, five canvases in one palette or a painting of your own street is a commission; a practical mix is one collected piece for the wall visitors remember and canvases painted to order around it. Every kind of seller is on where to buy art in Saudi Arabia.

Who buys the art for Jeddah's new hotels and serviced apartments?

The interior designers and pre-opening teams of the projects on the Corniche and in Jeddah Central, due between 2026 and 2028, who order by apartment layout as much as by lobby.

Jeddah had 18,760 hotel keys in mid-2025, and 62 hotel projects with 14,435 rooms in its construction pipeline a year later. Much of it sits on the water. SO/ Jeddah is due in late 2026 with 147 keys, most of them apartments; the 32-storey Four Seasons Jeddah Corniche is being built with 249 rooms and suites and 21 serviced apartments; and Jeddah Central has announced a Mandarin Oriental with 187 branded residences and a Canopy by Hilton with 120 serviced apartments.

That mix shapes the order. Apartments are furnished by layout, so one set of canvases repeats floor by floor, while each lobby and restaurant needs a brief of its own. If you are the designer, the FF&E buyer or the operator, we paint to your schedule, one layout at a time, and label every canvas by unit. Offices move too: Jeddah's occupiers are consolidating into newer buildings, with Grade A vacancy at 6%, and every move brings a reception and a boardroom to fill. More on Saudi hotels and restaurants.

How does a painting reach a villa or a tower in Jeddah?

Send the wall on WhatsApp, approve each stage from photographs, and choose the finish by the route into the room: rolled for the largest canvases, stretched or framed to arrive ready to hang.

Start with a photo of the wall, its width and the ceiling height; your quote usually arrives within one business day. You then see your own canvas in photographs or video at every stage, and nothing moves on until you approve.

The route into the room decides the finish. In a Corniche tower, measure the service lift and the corridor turns before choosing a stretched canvas wider than 2 metres: a large canvas can travel rolled, the lightest and most economical way, and be stretched by a framing shop in Jeddah, or the wall can take two or three panels that each fit the lift. Heavily textured and plaster work always travels stretched or framed. Once the painting is up, keep it out of direct sun and away from the air-conditioning outlet, and dust it with a dry cloth, never a spray.

Wall art in Jeddah FAQs

How long does a painting take to reach Jeddah?

About 10 days to paint, then 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS express to any address in Jeddah, from Al Balad to Obhur. Larger orders may travel by air or sea freight; we choose the best route for your address and confirm the shipping cost before anything leaves. For Ramadan, Eid or a wedding, tell us the date and start about a month ahead, to leave time for your approvals.

Will a canvas cope with Jeddah's humidity and sun?

Yes, with sensible placement. Acrylic on canvas is our standard, and oil is available on request. Hang the painting on an inside wall out of direct sun, away from the air-conditioning outlet and bathroom doors, and draw the blinds on west-facing glass in the afternoon. Dust it with a dry cloth; never spray cleaners or water onto the paint.

Can my designer or family approve the paintings while I am away?

Yes. Tell us who signs off, and we send the stage photographs or video straight to them, whether that is your interior designer in Jeddah or a relative at home while you travel. The next stage starts only after approval, and the final photograph is approved before the canvas ships, so nothing reaches your wall unseen.

Can you paint something like a work I saw in a Jeddah gallery?

If the work is still in copyright, we need the rights holder's permission before painting it, even as a hand-painted reproduction. Otherwise, send a photo of what you liked with your wall size: we suggest catalogue designs in the same spirit, or design a new piece for you, painted at the size your wall needs.

Can I return a painting ordered to Jeddah?

Every piece is painted to order and you approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it ships, so finished pieces are not returnable; Saudi e-commerce rules likewise exclude custom-made goods from the cancellation right unless they are defective. Damage in transit is rare, under 0.01% of pieces; if it happens, send us photos and we take it up with the carrier and work out a solution with you, such as a replacement or a refund.
