Navy monochrome impasto with vertical block strokes wall art

Near-black navy paint is stacked across the square in short vertical blocks, set in uneven columns like the courses of an old stone wall seen at night.

Each block is a single loaded stroke of thick paint, and where one meets the next the edges have pulled into thin grey ridges that read as hairline seams. The dark is not uniform: a misty, paler patch drifts just right of centre, and two small yellow-green flecks near the bottom are the only colour anywhere on the canvas. Up close, what looks like one black field resolves into dozens of separate planes.
