About this painting

Two electric-blue butterflies drift down a black, star-speckled sky, the larger one high in the canvas and its companion lower and to the right. Each wing is a few thick strokes of cobalt and ultramarine running out from the body, with a turquoise glow where the wings meet and a raised white rim along every edge.

That pale rim is what lifts them off the dark: it glints like frost and keeps the blue from sinking into the black. The ground is dotted with tiny white and teal flecks, and the left side is left almost empty, giving the pair open space to fly into.

HA#1101 is an original hyperrealist animal painting showing two vivid blue butterflies on a black starry ground, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

A black canvas with one saturated colour suits low, moody light: a cinema lounge, a corridor lit by downlights, or a living room with navy or charcoal walls, where the blue looks luminous. On a bright white wall it becomes a hard dark rectangle, so give it generous space either side. The pair climbs on a diagonal, which works beside a staircase when hung so the upper butterfly heads up the flight.

Specified for gallery & retail, corridor & circulation, lobby & reception and living room; it reads as dramatic and bold.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for HA#1101 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on HA#1101 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

What do the two butterflies in HA#1101 usually symbolise?

A pair of butterflies is often read as companionship or lasting love, a motif long used in East Asian decorative art, while blue butterflies are linked to hope and good news in Western folklore. Because these two fly together, the companionship reading is the one most people take from it.

Why does the background of HA#1101 look like a starry sky?

The black ground is spattered with fine white and teal dots, flicked on loosely, so it reads as a night sky rather than a flat backdrop. The spatter is light and random, which keeps attention on the two blue shapes while stopping a large area of black from feeling heavy.

Is HA#1101 a print or an original painting?

An original. HA#1101 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of HA#1101 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
