About this painting

Bands of cobalt and electric blue surf break across a near-black ground, seen from above as though from a cliff at night, each crest rimmed with a crust of white foam. The black between the waves is peppered with white specks that double as spray and as stars, so the picture hovers between sea and night sky.

The blue is built up in raised, crumbly layers, heaviest along the crests, with paler sky blue where the water thins over the foam. The waves run from the top edge toward the lower left, leaving the bottom right corner as the darkest, emptiest part of the canvas.

AA#922 is an original abstract seascape painting showing cobalt-blue textured wave or nebula forms with white speckles on black, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Its black ground needs a light wall to define the rectangle: pale grey, warm white or light oak panelling all work, and white marble or chrome nearby repeat the foam. In a dim cocktail bar, one tight spot on the crests makes the blues glow while the black melts into the shadow. Behind the reception desk of a coastal hotel it signals the sea without a postcard view. Its upright shape suits a pier between windows or the wall beside a staircase.

Specified for restaurant & bar, lobby & reception, gallery & retail and living room; it reads as dramatic and moody.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#922 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#922 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is AA#922 meant as the sea or as a starry sky?

Mainly the sea: the shapes are breaking waves seen from above, with foam along each crest. The scattered white flecks across the black also read as stars, and nothing on the canvas rules that out, so it fits a nautical scheme or a night-themed bar equally well.

What does the raised foam on AA#922 look like up close?

Crumbly and granular, more like dried sea spray than smooth paint. The white and pale blue are piled highest along each wave crest, so a sideways lamp casts tiny shadows down the foam lines while the black hollows between the waves stay deep and dark.

Is AA#922 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#922 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#922 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
