Blue and gold sunburst ridge abstract textured painting

Fine pale ridges radiate from near the middle of the square, so the whole canvas seems to burst outward in streaks of cobalt, ultramarine and turquoise. Close to the centre the lines kink and change direction in short zigzags, which gives the burst a faceted, crystalline look rather than smooth sunrays.

Broken, crumbly patches of pale gold interrupt the blue along the top edge and down both sides, and the corners deepen toward violet and purple with a few specks of magenta. Every ridge is combed through thick paint and carries a pale crest, so the surface shimmers as you walk past.
