About this painting

Seven soft cotton bolls open along slender gold-brown branches that rise from the bottom of the canvas, white tufts glowing against a smoky grey-brown ground. The stems climb in two main lines, one from the lower left and one from the centre, and the bolls stack up the picture in loose pairs, the highest almost touching the top edge.

Each tuft has feathered, blurred edges and no outline, so the cotton looks weightless, while the olive-gold calyxes and stems are drawn with crisper strokes. Behind them the ground is brushed in long vertical streaks of taupe and warm grey, a shade lighter on the right.

WA#244 is an original wabi-sabi floral painting showing cotton bolls on branches against a grey-brown ground, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Because the stems grow up from the bottom edge, the canvas looks right hung lower than usual, like a tall plant standing beside a bench or chair, and a narrow size fits the strip of wall between a window and a door. In a dim spa corridor the white bolls stay legible even when the ground falls into shadow. Give it a plain white or pale mushroom wall; busy wallpaper behind it fights the soft edges.

Specified for guest room & suite, spa & wellness, bedroom and entryway & hallway; it reads as peaceful and cozy & warm.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for WA#244 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on WA#244 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Why paint cotton bolls instead of flowers in WA#244?

Dried cotton stems are a favourite of natural and wabi-sabi interiors because they look soft without any bright colour. Painted at this scale they give the comfort of a floral subject while keeping the palette to white, taupe and gold, which suits rooms that steer away from pink or red.

Does the gold in WA#244 work with brass fittings?

Yes. The stems and calyxes are an olive-gold rather than bright yellow, so they sit comfortably beside brushed brass lamps, bronze handles, cane and warm wood. Next to chrome or nickel the gold fades to a quiet accent and the grey-brown ground takes over.

Is WA#244 a print or an original painting?

An original. WA#244 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of WA#244 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
