About this painting

Pale combed bands fill the top half and black takes over the bottom, where two cream shapes rise from the base like legs or vessels caught mid-step. Horizontal black bars punch through the upper bands, and a long cream ribbon crosses the middle at a slight tilt, bridging the two halves.

The combing changes direction from piece to piece, vertical at the upper left, diagonal at the upper right, close and horizontal on the lower shapes, so the beige is never one flat surface. The lower right form has a pointed black arch cut into it, a doorway-like gap that sets the rhythm of the dark half.

WA#050 is an original wabi-sabi geometric painting showing combed beige plaster shapes interlocking with black fields, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The weight sits low, which makes it steady above a long credenza or behind a desk, where the black lower half lines up with dark furniture. In an office or boardroom it holds its own against glass, polished concrete and grey carpet without adding colour. The pale top edge needs clear space above it, so avoid tucking it under a bulkhead or shelf, and light it from above so the ridges show.

Specified for workspace & office, meeting & boardroom, home office and living room; it reads as bold and moody.

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for WA#050 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on WA#050 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Does WA#050 work as a pair with WA#049?

Yes, they share the same beige, black and combed technique. WA#050 is busier and darker toward the base, while WA#049 opens up with a tall pale column. Hung as a pair, a hand's width apart, put WA#049 on the left so its column frames the outer edge.

Why is WA#050 darker at the bottom than the top?

The black fields widen toward the base so the painting feels grounded, like shadow under a ledge. That makes it a natural fit above low, dark furniture and less suited to hanging very high, where the heavy lower half would loom over the room.

Is WA#050 a print or an original painting?

An original. WA#050 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of WA#050 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
