About this painting

Chalky, scraped patches drift down a deep taupe canvas like old plaster showing through a painted wall. They gather in a loose band from the upper right through the centre to the lower left, with one more cluster low on the right, and their edges are frayed and broken. Inside each patch the paint is dry-brushed and scored with fine crossing lines, so the pale tone looks worn through rather than laid on.

Between them the taupe is smooth and even, with a faint mauve-grey cast, and wide areas at the left and right are left untouched. That restraint keeps the worn marks from becoming busy.

WA#072 is an original wabi-sabi geometric painting showing taupe-brown field with pale scraped, weathered patches, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Its dark, even field gives a boardroom, office or study wall weight without pattern or colour that tires people in long meetings. Charcoal felt, tobacco leather, blackened steel, oatmeal bouclé and paper lamps all suit it. The tall shape fits between two windows, beside a bookcase or above a narrow desk in a guest room. Keep lighting soft and warm: a hard spotlight makes the pale patches jump forward, while a gentle wash lets them recede into the taupe.

Specified for meeting & boardroom, workspace & office, guest room & suite and home office; it reads as moody and cozy & warm.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for WA#072 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on WA#072 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is there any pink in WA#072?

Not as a colour of its own. The ground is deep taupe brown with a slight mauve-grey undertone, which can look faintly rosy under warm bulbs or beside blush textiles, but the paint itself is brown, grey and chalk white only.

Is WA#072 textured to the touch?

No, it is essentially flat. The weathered look comes from paint that was dry-brushed and scraped back, leaving fine scratches and frayed edges that read like worn plaster but lie level with the surface. That also makes it simple to light evenly, without raking shadows.

Is WA#072 a print or an original painting?

An original. WA#072 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of WA#072 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
