About this painting

About a dozen pale, faceless dancers sway shoulder to shoulder across a near-black brown ground, arms flung up and bent at the elbow as if caught mid-step. They are painted in cream, bone and taupe, reduced to small tilted heads, long dresses and thin legs that taper to points at the bottom edge.

The brushwork is quick and dry: single sweeps for each arm and gown, with the dark ground showing between and even through the figures, so the front row glows and the dancers behind fade toward grey. The top third is mostly raised hands against the dark, which gives the canvas its upward lift.

IA#574 is an original impressionist figurative painting showing loosely painted dancing figures in beige on dark brown, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

A canvas this dark needs light on it: a wall-washer over a bar back, a lit niche in a restaurant, or a dining room wall that catches lamplight at night. Against cream or warm plaster the brown reads as a deep window and the figures stand forward; on charcoal or dark panelling the edges merge and the dancers appear to float. The upright format fits the pier between two booths or a narrow wall beside a staircase.

Specified for restaurant & bar, gallery & retail, dining room and living room; it reads as moody and cozy & warm.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for IA#574 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on IA#574 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Who are the figures in IA#574 meant to be?

Nobody specific. The dancers have no faces, and their dresses and raised arms are reduced to a few strokes, so they read as a shared celebration rather than a portrait. That anonymity is why the canvas sits comfortably in public rooms such as bars and restaurants.

Why do some dancers in IA#574 look see-through?

The cream paint is dragged on thinly with a fairly dry brush, so the dark brown underneath breaks through in streaks. Figures at the back carry less paint and fade toward grey, which creates depth without any shading and makes the front dancers look lit.

Is IA#574 a print or an original painting?

An original. IA#574 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of IA#574 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
