About this painting

Slabs of black, slate and pale grey paint stand in for buildings on a wet city street, with one small dark figure walking in the middle of the road. Each facade is one knife drag with hard edges and ridged ends. On the left a column of strong lemon yellow cuts down through the black; on the right, coral, orange and red lights stack up beside a strip of blue. The sky is a pale wash of blush pink and white.

The lower third is the road: cream, ochre and grey reflections pulled straight down, with headlamps marked as round orange dots and white spatter across the dark corners.

IA#942 is an original impressionist cityscape painting showing knife-stroke city street with a lone figure and cars on a wet road, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The street runs straight away from the viewer, so hang it where people meet it head-on: facing the door of a bar, closing the view down an office corridor, or behind a host stand. The black and grey hold up against concrete, exposed brick and dark-stained timber, while the yellow and coral lights answer brass fittings and tungsten bulbs. A warm light angled from above makes the knife ridges cast short shadows along the buildings.

Specified for workspace & office, corridor & circulation, restaurant & bar and home office; it reads as moody and dramatic.

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for IA#942 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on IA#942 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is the street in IA#942 a specific city?

No city is named or identifiable. The buildings are reduced to knife slabs and the shop lights to dabs of colour, so it reads as any downtown street after rain. That lets a hotel, bar or office anywhere use it without tying the room to one place.

How raised are the knife strokes on IA#942?

The building slabs and the yellow block on the left stand proud of the canvas, with visible ridges where the knife lifted off. The road reflections are thinner and smoother, so in raking light the upper half looks carved while the bottom stays quieter.

Is IA#942 a print or an original painting?

An original. IA#942 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of IA#942 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
