About this painting

A couple walks away down a rain-soaked avenue under a single blue umbrella, she in a bright orange coat, her companion in dark clothes, between towers washed in blue.

Headlights glare from a car on the left and a yellow taxi waits on the right, with red and amber shop signs stacked up the facades. The lower third is all reflection: orange, red and yellow light broken into vertical knife-laid slabs on a wet cobalt street. A slot of pale sky at the far end of the avenue sits directly above the two figures and holds the picture on its centre line.

IA#787 is an original impressionist cityscape painting showing couple under an umbrella on a rainy city street with taxi and neon reflections, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The figures sit in the middle third of the canvas, which puts them at eye level for diners in a bar or bistro when the bottom edge hangs just above the banquette back. Orange and amber pick up tan leather, walnut and brass; on a terracotta or camel wall, the blue of the street takes over instead. The wet-street reflections look richest under warm, low evening light, close to the light in the scene.

Specified for restaurant & bar, guest room & suite, entryway & hallway and bedroom; it reads as romantic and moody.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for IA#787 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on IA#787 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is the city in IA#787 a real place?

No street is identified. The yellow taxi, tall towers and stacked neon signs suggest a big North American downtown on a wet night, but the buildings are painted loosely enough that the scene reads as any large city after rain.

Why is the street in IA#787 painted in separate slabs?

Each slab is a single pass of the palette knife, leaving a flat, slightly raised block of colour with a crisp edge. Set side by side, orange, red and yellow blocks on blue read as light shattered across wet tarmac, the way reflections break up on a rainy night.

Is IA#787 a print or an original painting?

An original. IA#787 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of IA#787 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
