Gold stars burn in a deep blue sky over a wide river at night, and the lamps of the far bank spill down the water in long, broken yellow columns.

Low on the right, a couple walks arm in arm along the near shore, two small dark figures beside a pale ochre sandbank, and two moored boats with bare masts lie at the centre.
