About this painting

A grey horse turns its head to the right, ears up and eye dark, while its black mane streams out to the left as if caught in a strong wind. The cream face and white blaze carry the most light and sit in the upper right. The mane is long, fine-ended flicks of black and navy that thin toward the left edge, carrying chips of orange, red and ochre like sparks.

Neck and chest are broad flat knife planes in slate, navy and cream, stacked rather than blended, over a pale cream-grey haze.

IA#981 is an original impressionist animal painting showing expressive knife-stroke horse head with flying black mane and orange flecks, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 10 standard sizes run from 24×24 in (61×61 cm) to 72×72 in (183×183 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

A square format with the head off-centre needs room around it: behind a reception desk, opposite the chair at the head of a boardroom, or above a low cabinet in a study where it is seen from the chair. Warm neutrals such as taupe plaster, camel leather and cognac velvet bring out the orange flecks, and it also holds against concrete grey. The horse looks right, so set it left of centre on a long wall and its gaze runs into the room.

Specified for gallery & retail, workspace & office, lobby & reception and home office; it reads as dramatic and bold.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for IA#981 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 24×24 in to 72×72 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on IA#981 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

What does a horse like IA#981 suggest in an office?

Horses are often read as energy, freedom and forward movement, and in many Asian offices a galloping horse is hung as a wish for quick success. The windblown mane stresses speed, even though only the head and chest are shown.

Why do the mane and body of IA#981 look so different?

They are painted two ways. The mane is long tapering strokes with fine trailing ends, while the neck and chest are flat-edged slabs laid with the knife. That contrast makes the head seem to turn out of the wind while the body stays solid.

Is IA#981 a print or an original painting?

An original. IA#981 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of IA#981 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
