About this painting

A pale stone, almost round, rests in the lower half of the canvas, pressed between a black hillside and a broad taupe sky in which a small rust-red sun hangs at upper left.

The design is reduced to four elements, and the empty taupe field is given more room than the stone. Black fills the lower left and climbs the right side in one smooth hill-like curve, and where that edge meets the stone it turns slightly ragged, like torn paper. The stone is chalk white, scored with hairline cracks and faint scratched marks like weathered limestone. Everything else is dry and matte, flat rather than built up.

WA#247 is an original wabi-sabi landscape painting showing beige stone-like oval on brown and black fields with a small rust sun, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Its weight sits low, so the canvas looks settled just above a long low bench or a console with one or two clay vessels in front, repeating the stone. Limewash, raw plaster, concrete floors and pale timber suit it best. The matte finish does not glare under bright boardroom lighting, and its three big shapes still read clearly when seen down the length of a hallway from the front door.

Specified for spa & wellness, meeting & boardroom, entryway & hallway and living room; it reads as peaceful and moody.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for WA#247 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on WA#247 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

What does the small red sun add to WA#247?

Scale and a single point of colour. Without it the picture is a pale form on dark ground; with it, the stone becomes a boulder in a landscape and the taupe becomes sky. The rust dot also gives a link to terracotta, cognac leather or a red lacquer object in the room.

Does WA#247 work with black furniture?

Yes. The black slope is the darkest shape in the picture, so a black bench, a dark-stained table or iron lamps below it continue that mass into the room, while the chalk-white stone answers plaster, boucle or stoneware. Keep the wall pale so the taupe sky does not merge into it.

Is WA#247 a print or an original painting?

An original. WA#247 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of WA#247 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
