About this painting

A deep forest-green sea surges up from the lower left and breaks against a crust of white foam that spreads across the upper right of the canvas.

Between the two lies a smooth channel of pale mint water, edged by a thin dark line where the foam lifts off the surface. Each zone has its own texture: the green is cut with short curved knife marks like scales, the foam is built up rough and pitted like real spume, and the upper left is cream plaster swept flat with a blade.

What is the thin dark line under the foam in TA#1040?
