About this painting

One enormous peony fills the square almost to its edges, its ruffled petals sculpted in glossy gold, pewter grey and white against a flat matte black. The flower is split by colour: the left side is smoky charcoal and pewter, the right and centre glow yellow-gold with white highlights, and every petal edge is traced with a fine raised gold line.

Those outlines are what make it read as relief rather than paint. They catch light separately from the petals, so the bloom looks drawn and carved at once. The black ground is left completely empty, which pushes the flower forward and makes its shine look brighter.

TA#554 is an original textured floral painting showing gold and silver metallic relief peony on black, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a sculpted relief surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 10 standard sizes run from 24×24 in (61×61 cm) to 72×72 in (183×183 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Plan around the gloss: set the light high and steeply angled to keep the highlights on the petal edges, and avoid hanging it facing a bright window, since glare would flatten the gold. The black square works as a solid block on pale marble or stone in a lobby, and centred over a banquette it holds its own at the far end of a restaurant. In a jewellery or fashion boutique it suits the wall behind the counter.

Specified for restaurant & bar, gallery & retail, lobby & reception and dining room; it reads as dramatic and bold.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for TA#554 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 24×24 in to 72×72 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Because the surface is not rolled, the choice is between stretched, ready to hang, and stretched in a frame; a frame costs more.
Surface
Sculpted relief is built up in layers with drying time between them, so it costs more than a flat painting of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on TA#554 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Why is half of the peony in TA#554 grey instead of gold?

The pewter and charcoal petals on the left are the flower's shadow side. They give the bloom volume, as if lit from the right, and keep the gold from becoming one flat yellow mass. They also link the flower to the black ground around it.

What does a gold peony like TA#554 symbolise?

Peonies are often read as symbols of prosperity and good fortune, and in East Asian decorative tradition the peony is called the king of flowers. Painted in gold on black, that reading of wealth and abundance is easy for guests to pick up, which suits hospitality and retail settings.

Is TA#554 a print or an original painting?

An original. TA#554 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of TA#554 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
