About this painting

A heavy field of gold covers the top of the canvas and breaks apart as it falls, dissolving into a deep blue-black across the lower half. Along the boundary the gold splits into islands and drips, some drifting almost to the bottom edge at lower left, so the two colours seem to erode into each other.

The texture is heaviest in the gold, where thick knife ridges and crested peaks stand up at the top right. On the right, white and pale blue flecks burst through the dark like foam on a night sea, and thin white drips run down the left edge.

AA#667 is an original abstract painting showing heavy gold impasto dissolving into black with white flecks, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The weight sits low and the light sits high, so hang it with its bottom edge just above a console, reception counter or jewellery case: the dark half settles behind the furniture and the gold rises above eye level, where it is seen first from the door. Charcoal or black-painted walls make the gold look brighter; on white, the black lower half can read as a hole. Walnut, smoked glass, black marble and brass all suit it.

Specified for lobby & reception, gallery & retail, restaurant & bar and living room; it reads as dramatic and bold.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#667 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#667 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

How does the ridged gold in AA#667 respond to a spotlight?

Strongly. A downlight or picture light from above throws small shadows below each knife ridge, so the gold looks raised and glinting. Under flat, even ceiling light it settles to a soft ochre-gold. For a lobby or bar at night, a narrow warm beam gives the most dramatic result.

Is the dark in AA#667 black or navy?

A very deep navy that reads as black from a distance. Up close, and where the paint thins near the white flecks on the right, a blue cast shows through. That helps in schemes with navy upholstery or blue-grey stone, where a pure black would look harsher.

Is AA#667 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#667 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#667 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
