About this painting

Rectangles of ochre, mustard, white and black are stacked across the whole canvas like courses of old brickwork seen at dusk. Each block is a single drag of the knife, so its edges tear and its surface ridges, with lower layers breaking through in flecks.

The black gathers in tall columns on the right side, the white runs down the centre in a broken path to the bottom edge, and pale silver-grey caps the top row. Burnt sienna browns fill the gaps. Tiny sparks of red near the upper right and orange at the left only show up at close range.

AA#740 is an original abstract geometric painting showing patchwork of gold, ochre, white and black knife blocks, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

With black massed on one side and white down the middle, it needs a light wall around it; on charcoal paint it loses its right-hand edge. In a lobby, set it behind the reception counter or facing the lift doors, where the brick-like rhythm carries across the floor. Black steel, smoked oak and tan leather all suit it, and in a living room it stands up to a dark sofa or a black fireplace surround on the opposite wall.

Specified for lobby & reception, workspace & office, living room and entryway & hallway; it reads as bold and cozy & warm.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#740 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#740 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Does AA#740 depict a city?

Not directly. The stacked blocks are abstract, but many people see lit windows in a tower block or stones in an old wall, because the white and ochre squares sit inside darker frames. The reading changes with distance: architecture from across a room, raw paint up close.

How does AA#740 balance its black areas?

The black sits mostly in two columns on the right, one near the top and one at the lower corner, with thinner black bars cutting across the left half. The white path down the centre offsets that weight, so the canvas leans right without tipping. Heavier furniture placed to its left evens the wall out.

Is AA#740 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#740 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#740 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
