White roses with black and gold leaves square canvas art

Half a dozen white roses crowd toward the middle of a square canvas, their petals wound in thick swirls of white shaded with blue-grey, their leaves painted black and flecked with gold. The largest rose sits right of centre with a gold stroke at its heart; smaller blooms circle it, and the one at top left almost dissolves into the ground.

Behind them the grey and white background is dragged and dripped vertically, and thin gold runs fall from the lower leaves toward the bottom edge, so the cluster feels anchored. The pointed black leaves, flicked outward, give the sharpest contrast on the canvas.
