About this painting

A bright orange stripe slashes upward from near the lower left to the top right corner, cutting through broad knife strokes of white, pale grey and chocolate brown. A dark brown wedge presses down from the top edge, its surface cracked where the knife dragged thin paint, and a block of pure white sits just below it, scraped off clean along one curved edge.

Between them runs a narrow passage of sage green, with a rust band running parallel to the orange. Around this core, pale grey and white strokes all lean the same way, so the whole square seems to tilt.

AA#422 is an original abstract painting showing diagonal grey, brown and white knife strokes crossed by an orange band, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 10 standard sizes run from 24×24 in (61×61 cm) to 72×72 in (183×183 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Cognac leather chairs, walnut tabletops and black metal pick up the brown and orange, while concrete or pale grey plaster matches the grey strokes around them. Centred over a dining or meeting table, the square format reads evenly from both sides. Light it from one side rather than straight on: the knife ridges on the white block and the cracks in the brown only show when light rakes across them. Keep neighbouring art quiet, because the orange carries this wall alone.

Specified for restaurant & bar, workspace & office, dining room and living room; it reads as dramatic and bold.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#422 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 24×24 in to 72×72 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#422 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Could AA#422 be hung turned on its side?

Being square, it physically can, but the composition is built on a rising diagonal with the dark wedge at the top. Turned a quarter, the orange band would fall from the top left to the bottom right and the brown would sit at one side, a heavier and less buoyant result.

Which parts of AA#422 show the knife work most clearly?

In the dark brown wedge and the white block beneath it. Both are laid with the flat of a palette knife, so the brown shows fine cracks and ridges and the white ends in a sharp, lifted edge. The grey strokes around them are thinner and more translucent.

Is AA#422 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#422 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#422 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
