Continuous-line female face charcoal plaster painting

One unbroken line draws a woman's profile across a canvas split down the middle, shining white on the charcoal half and turning black as it crosses onto the off-white half. Her closed eye, nose and lips face left on the dark side; on the pale side the line loops like a curl of hair and sends a long stroke up to the top right corner, and below the chin it crosses back to trace her neck and shoulder down to the bottom edge.

The halves are troweled differently, the charcoal fine and sandy, the pale side broken into heavier ridges and flakes.

Black lacquer, cream leather, chrome and smoked glass suit its two tones; busy wallpaper fights it.
