About this painting

Skyscrapers dissolve into long downward streaks of black, cream and white, as if the whole city were seen through rain running down a window. A tall stepped tower rises left of centre with lit windows picked out in tiny flecks, and along the foot of the canvas a row of bare white trees lines a wet street.

Almost everything is cream, soot black and grey; the one exception is a small flare of gold-ochre on the right, between the towers, which the eye finds at once. Paint is dragged vertically through the buildings and scratched in fine white lines for the branches.

IA#1021 is an original impressionist cityscape painting showing city skyline and bare trees in dripping black, cream and white strokes, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Its near-monochrome palette suits interiors already built on black, white and grey: fluted charcoal joinery, smoked glass, marble with grey veining. On charcoal the cream ground shines like a lit panel; on white plaster the black towers do the work instead. It holds its own in a fashion boutique or a wine room with black steel shelving, and in an office it brings a city mood without any colour to fight a brand palette.

Specified for workspace & office, gallery & retail, home office and living room; it reads as moody and dramatic.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for IA#1021 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on IA#1021 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is the stepped tower in IA#1021 a specific building?

It is not drawn as one. The tower has a tiered crown like many early skyscrapers, but it is painted in streaks that stop short of a recognisable landmark, so the picture reads as a winter downtown anywhere rather than a portrait of one city.

How does the gold flare in IA#1021 work in a black and white room?

It gives you a thread to pull. The gold-ochre passage is small, near the right edge between two towers, so a brass lamp, a gold-veined marble top or one mustard cushion repeats it and links painting and room without breaking the monochrome look.

Is IA#1021 a print or an original painting?

An original. IA#1021 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of IA#1021 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
