About this painting

A leopard's face comes out of total darkness, pale green eyes fixed straight ahead and long white whiskers fanning across the black.

Only the head and one front paw are lit; the shoulders break up into dark rosettes that melt back into the ground. The fur is painted in flat, separate patches of tan, gold, umber and grey rather than blended strokes, a faceted style that looks almost graphic up close. The paw steps over the lower edge of the black field onto the white margin of the canvas, with a soft grey shadow beneath it, so the cat seems to be walking out of the picture.

HA#229 is an original hyperrealist animal painting showing leopard head and paw emerging from a black background, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The white margin around the black field acts like a built-in mount, so the canvas looks finished on pale paint and sits easily with cream bouclé, light oak and rattan; on a dark wall that border effect is lost. The leopard looks straight out, so hang it facing a seat or doorway: across from a desk chair, beyond the last stool of a bar or opposite a sofa, where its gaze meets the people in the room.

Specified for gallery & retail, restaurant & bar, home office and living room; it reads as moody and bold.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for HA#229 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on HA#229 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Why does the paw in HA#229 cross the edge of the black background?

It is a trompe-l'oeil touch. Letting one paw step onto the white margin, with a shadow beneath it, suggests the leopard is leaving its dark panel and coming into the room. It is usually the first detail people point out, and it makes the white border part of the image.

Does the faceted, patch-by-patch style of HA#229 look realistic from across a room?

Yes. Up close the fur is a mosaic of flat tan, gold and dark brown shapes with crisp edges, but from three or four metres they merge into soft fur and spotted rosettes. That double reading suits bars and galleries, where people see it first from afar and then pass close.

Is HA#229 a print or an original painting?

An original. HA#229 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of HA#229 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
