About this painting

A young girl looks back over her shoulder, lips just parted, a single pearl catching the light below her ear.

Her turban is wrapped in blue across the forehead and falls behind her in a long length of yellow cloth; an ochre jacket and a white collar are the only other colours against a near-black ground. The face is blended softly, pale pink with moist highlights on the eyes and lower lip. The darkness behind her holds no detail, so all the light lands on face, headscarf and pearl. Painted by hand after the much-loved Dutch Golden Age portrait, it keeps the original's quiet, direct glance.

HA#185 is an original hyperrealist figurative painting showing girl with a pearl earring portrait after Vermeer, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The black ground behaves like a dark panel on the wall, so give it a light setting: cream panelling, ivory plaster or pale grey, where its edges stay crisp. Hang the face at standing eye height so her glance meets people as they come in, which works well in an entrance hall or a boutique fitting area. Brass, black lacquer and gilt echo the yellow cloth. A small light aimed from the upper left repeats the direction of light already painted on her face.

Specified for gallery & retail, restaurant & bar, entryway & hallway and home office; it reads as moody and romantic.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for HA#185 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on HA#185 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

How is the pearl earring itself painted in HA#185?

Very simply: a soft grey-white teardrop with one bright highlight near the top and a paler glow along its lower edge. From a few steps back those two touches turn into a glossy pearl, and that small economy is what makes the portrait feel alive.

Which room colours pick up the blue and gold of HA#185?

Repeat the turban blue and the warm ochre-gold: a blue velvet chair, brass lamps, gilt mouldings or mustard textiles. Keep the wall itself light so the black background reads as a clean shape, and use ivory or warm white paint to link with the cream collar.

Is HA#185 a print or an original painting?

An original. HA#185 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of HA#185 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
