Royal blue from crest to tail, a single peacock perches on a branch of white blossom at the right of a cream canvas and lets its long train sweep diagonally down to the bottom edge. The tail is built from hundreds of short, feathery strokes in cobalt and ultramarine, scattered with small pale green and cream eye-spots in tidy rows.

White six-petal blossoms with yellow centres, dark leaves and deep red buds cluster at upper left and again at lower right, bracketing the bird from opposite corners. The cream ground is left plain and smooth.
