A golden retriever walks beside its owner with its chin lifted and eyes shut, as if enjoying the air, an orange leash rising from its collar straight out of the top edge of the canvas. Of the owner only one stride is visible: a teal coat swinging behind a leg in orange floral fabric, a bare ankle and a white block heel mid-step.

The fur is drawn with fine, sketchy lines over flat honey tones, the way an illustrator works, and the right half of the canvas is mostly bare cream ground. That empty space gives the dog somewhere to walk into.
