About this painting

A square of tiny raised cells, like loosely woven cloth seen close up, sits in the centre of a plain cream canvas.

Each cell is a small block of paste with a shadowed gap around it, so the grid is drawn in shade rather than in line. Some rows are tight and regular, others open into taller, stitch-like marks, and in places the weave thins and pales as if threads had been pulled. A wide, smooth border surrounds the woven square, giving it the calm of a mounted textile sample.

WA#036 is an original wabi-sabi geometric painting showing square of woven, stitched-looking beige plaster grid texture centred on a cream field, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a sculpted relief surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 10 standard sizes run from 24×24 in (61×61 cm) to 72×72 in (183×183 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The texture is fine and best met at close range, for instance beside a spa reception counter or opposite the armchair in a treatment room, rather than across a large hall. Linen, rattan, limewash and travertine echo its woven look. Low, warm light from one side deepens the cell shadows to taupe; under cool overhead light the grid fades almost to white.

Specified for meeting & boardroom, guest room & suite, spa & wellness and home office; it reads as calming and peaceful.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for WA#036 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 24×24 in to 72×72 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Because the surface is not rolled, the choice is between stretched, ready to hang, and stretched in a frame; a frame costs more.
Surface
Sculpted relief is built up in layers with drying time between them, so it costs more than a flat painting of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on WA#036 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

What gives WA#036 its woven look?

Small blocks of paste are set in rows with narrow gaps between them, and the gaps fall into shadow. Varying the height and spacing of the blocks, some squat and some tall like stitches, makes the surface look like coarse cloth or scrim rather than a ruled grid.

Will WA#036 hold its own beside bolder art on a shared wall?

Only with space around it. The cell texture is fine and the colour is all cream, so next to a strong abstract it can disappear. Give it more clearance than its neighbours, or group it with other pale, textured pieces where its weave becomes the detail people notice.

Is WA#036 a print or an original painting?

An original. WA#036 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of WA#036 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
