About this painting

A chalk-white double peak rises out of bands of rust terracotta, mustard ochre and pale sand, each built up in plaster thick enough to stand proud of the canvas like a relief map. The sky above is textured in a completely different way, combed into tight horizontal ridges, so the land looks solid and the air restless.

A small chocolate-brown ridge on the right separates the snow from the terracotta, and the sand-coloured hill in the bottom right corner is the palest, flattest shape, which keeps the foreground from crowding.

TA#011 is an original textured landscape painting showing stacked terracotta, ochre and white mountain forms in raised plaster, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a sculpted relief surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Rust and mustard belong with cognac or tan leather, travertine, limewashed walls and pale oak, and the canvas sits comfortably above a low modular sofa in caramel or brick. On greige or warm white paint the combed sky blends into the wall and the coloured mountains carry the picture. In a guest room, the wall opposite the bed shows the relief face on from the pillows; at the end of a corridor it gives warm colour to a walk that is usually white.

Specified for corridor & circulation, guest room & suite, entryway & hallway and bedroom; it reads as cozy & warm and peaceful.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for TA#011 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Because the surface is not rolled, the choice is between stretched, ready to hang, and stretched in a frame; a frame costs more.
Surface
Sculpted relief is built up in layers with drying time between them, so it costs more than a flat painting of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on TA#011 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Why is the sky in TA#011 combed while the mountains are lumpy?

To separate air from land without a second strong colour. Fine horizontal combing keeps the sky light and even, while the peaks and slopes are laid on thick and uneven. That contrast of surface is what lets a white peak stand clear of a white sky.

Which colour from TA#011 should lead a room scheme?

Rust terracotta, the biggest area of colour after the whites. Use it in one upholstered piece or a rug, let the mustard appear in a cushion or throw, and keep walls near the chalky white or pale sand of the canvas. The small chocolate ridge suggests dark wood for side tables.

Is TA#011 a print or an original painting?

An original. TA#011 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of TA#011 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
