About this painting

A solid terracotta band climbs the centre of the canvas and turns right in a smooth curve, like half of an archway, set against white plaster combed into fine ridges. Two smaller terracotta curves echo it, one sweeping across the upper left and one tucked into the bottom-left corner.

Around them the comb lines change direction from patch to patch: a wide concentric fan at lower left, vertical ribs at the top, horizontal bands on the right, so the surface reads like a collage of ridged tiles. Dusty pink shows in the grooves between the white ridges, warming the plaster and tying it to the terracotta.

TA#686 is an original textured geometric painting showing terracotta arch and combed ridged plaster arcs on white, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a sculpted relief surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

At the head of a staircase or on the far wall of an entry, its arch reads from well back and answers real architecture: curved doorways, arched niches, round mirrors. Clay tile, rattan, limewash and warm white walls suit the terracotta, while black stair rails and dark frames sharpen its edges. In a guest room it works best across from the bed, where the whole pattern can be taken in from the pillows.

Specified for spa & wellness, guest room & suite, entryway & hallway and bedroom; it reads as cozy & warm and peaceful.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for TA#686 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Because the surface is not rolled, the choice is between stretched, ready to hang, and stretched in a frame; a frame costs more.
Surface
Sculpted relief is built up in layers with drying time between them, so it costs more than a flat painting of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on TA#686 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is the terracotta in TA#686 raised like the white areas?

Far less. The terracotta shapes are smooth, laid as solid colour beside the combed plaster rather than combed themselves. That contrast between plain colour and ribbed white texture is the core idea of the piece, and it holds up even under flat, even lighting where the ridges cast little shadow.

Which colours from TA#686 are worth repeating in the room?

Pick up the terracotta in one or two smaller things, such as a clay pot, a rust throw or a leather chair, and let the dusty pink in the grooves suggest blush or plaster-pink textiles. Large areas of the same terracotta would overpower the painting, so keep the walls white, cream or pale grey.

Is TA#686 a print or an original painting?

An original. TA#686 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of TA#686 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
