Blue-gray and gold leaf abstract floral canvas art

Two dusky blue blooms open on long curving stems, the upper one swirled like a loose rose and crowned with broken patches of gold, the lower one darker and cupped like a poppy turning away. Fern-like sprays curl up from the bottom edge, and faint blue ghosts of further flowers drift in at the left and right margins.

The cream ground is far from plain. Short dark hatch marks, vertical drags of paint and streaks of ochre-gold run across it, so the flowers seem to stand in front of a weathered wall. The blooms are built from swirled, layered strokes of slate, steel blue and near-navy.
