About this painting

Hundreds of small knife-laid blocks of red, orange and yellow pack the canvas like a city seen from the air, with blue and white arcs sweeping through them as roads and flyovers.

No single spot rules. The brightest area is a hot yellow-orange patch near the top centre, and the arcs bend around it in loose rings; toward the bottom the blocks turn upright and grayer, with window-like grids, red frames and scraps of pink that read like street fronts. Each slab of paint is laid with the knife and left with a raw edge, so every block throws a small shadow of its own.

XA#1150 is an original maximalist cityscape painting showing dense bird's-eye tangle of colourful city blocks, arcs and roads, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 24×20 in (61×51 cm) to 80×60 in (203×153 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The density works at two distances. From the far end of a studio floor or a store it reads as one warm field; up close, someone waiting at reception can spend minutes finding tiny windows and frames, which suits a creative agency, a showroom or a shop where people linger. Give it a plain wall of white, concrete or charcoal with no competing pattern nearby; walnut and black steel both sit well beneath it.

Specified for workspace & office, lobby & reception, gallery & retail and home office; it reads as bold and dramatic.

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for XA#1150 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 24×20 in to 80×60 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on XA#1150 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is XA#1150 based on a real city?

No. It is an invented city, made of blocks, arcs and grids rather than streets you could find on a map. The curved blue lines suggest ring roads and overpasses and the lower rows suggest shopfronts, but the picture stays abstract enough that each viewer can find a different place in it.

How much does the knife texture on XA#1150 stand out?

A great deal at close range. The blocks are laid as thick slabs with ridged edges, so a downlight or wall washer throws a small shadow under each one and the surface looks almost like mosaic. Even, flat lighting quietens the effect; angled track lighting makes the most of it.

Is XA#1150 a print or an original painting?

An original. XA#1150 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of XA#1150 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
