About this painting

Broad slabs of coral, scarlet, violet and cobalt collide across the middle of a long canvas, with dark brown streaks fanning out to the right like the spread feathers of a wing.

The left end is cooler, grey-green and cream flecked with black and sky blue. The colour heats toward the centre: a yellow-orange wedge at the top, coral and red falling through the middle, purple and blue pooled below. On the right the knife is dragged rather than pressed, pulling brown, peach and black into long streaks. Every stroke keeps its ridges, with black spatter flicked over the top.

CA#116 is an original colorful geometric painting showing thick knife slabs of red, coral, blue, purple and cream, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 11 standard sizes run from 36×18 in (91×46 cm) to 100×50 in (254×127 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Its 2:1 shape and heavy texture need width and some distance: over a long reception desk, along a corridor wall wide enough to step back from, or above a three-metre sofa. With so many colours in play, keep the surroundings to warm grey, stone and black metal, then repeat just one accent, cobalt or burnt orange, in a chair or cushion. Ceiling wall-washers aimed down the surface make the knife ridges cast short shadows.

Specified for lobby & reception, workspace & office, gallery & retail and living room; it reads as bold and dramatic.

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for CA#116 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 36×18 in to 100×50 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on CA#116 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is there a hidden image in the slabs of CA#116?

No, it is entirely non-representational. Some people see a bird's wing or a burst of petals in the streaks on the right, but nothing is drawn; the movement comes purely from the direction of the knife and the way warm colour gathers in the centre.

How does the knife texture of CA#116 look in side light?

Pronounced. The slabs are thick enough that each knife edge throws a thin shadow, and the dragged streaks on the right show fine parallel ridges. Under flat overhead light the colour dominates; lit from one side, the surface becomes almost sculptural.

Is CA#116 a print or an original painting?

An original. CA#116 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of CA#116 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
