About this painting

An orange glow burns high in the canvas and seeps downward through layers of crimson, as if light were falling through a dark red curtain. Faint vertical drips trail from that bright patch to a narrow ledge of colour about two-thirds down, and beneath it a band of hot scarlet fills the lower third almost from edge to edge.

The surface is grainy rather than smooth: paint has been dabbed and scraped so the colour breaks into fine speckles, and every margin darkens to wine and near-black. There is nothing to recognise, only temperature, moving from ember at the core to deep red at the rim.

CA#271 is an original colorful geometric painting showing glowing red and orange colour field with deep crimson edges and grainy texture, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Red this saturated changes the light around it, so give it a wall to itself: the rear wall of a bar, facing the entrance, a dining room’s end wall, or the boardroom wall behind the chair at the top of the table, where it frames whoever sits there. It holds its own beside black steel, smoked glass and oxblood leather. A downlight grazing the top edge picks out the speckled grain and makes the orange core look lit from inside.

Specified for restaurant & bar, lobby & reception, meeting & boardroom and home office; it reads as dramatic and moody.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for CA#271 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on CA#271 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

How does the grainy surface of CA#271 change with the lighting?

Under flat, even light it reads as soft, glowing colour. Light from one side or a narrow beam from above makes each dab throw a tiny shadow, and the surface starts to look like weathered stone or rusted metal. Warm bulbs also push the orange core toward gold.

Is CA#271 a colour field painting?

It works in that tradition: one dominant hue, soft-edged zones stacked from top to bottom and no subject, so colour and surface carry the whole picture. Its broken, gritty skin of paint is rougher than the smooth, stained fields the style is best known for.

Is CA#271 a print or an original painting?

An original. CA#271 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of CA#271 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
