About this painting

Hundreds of thick, rounded dots of paint pack the canvas edge to edge, and a pale diagonal of white, pink and lemon cuts through them from the top centre towards the lower left.

Around that light band the colour runs like a spectrum: orange and gold at the top, crimson and magenta down the left side, emerald and lime to the right, turquoise and cobalt along the base. Each dot is a single press of the knife, flattened on top with a raised rim, so the surface looks tiled.

What is the pale band running through CA#975?

It is a diagonal of the lightest dots, white, blush pink and lemon, from the top edge towards the lower left. It reads like a shaft of light through stained glass, and the stronger colours step outward from it in rough rings, so the canvas seems lit from within.
