About this painting

One cobalt cornflower opens near the top of the canvas, its ragged blue petals tipped with white and splayed around a speckled pale centre. A thin dark stem drops through the middle, with two small cobalt buds, a navy bud on the right and a little white daisy at the lower left.

The knife work is boldest in the background. A slab of grey-white paint is pushed across the centre in short, broken strokes, and deep cobalt crowds in from the edges, so the flower stands on a pale field that itself sits inside a blue border. The petals are long, sharp knife strokes radiating from the centre.

CA#499 is an original colorful floral painting showing vivid cobalt blue cornflower with white petals and buds on a knife-textured grey and blue ground, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The pale centre carries a long way, so it holds a reception wall seen from the entrance doors or the far end of an entry hall. It partners well with honed limestone, board-formed concrete, chrome and bleached ash; on a cobalt or navy wall the blue border merges into the paint and the grey field appears to hang on its own. Light it across the surface rather than straight on, so every knife ridge throws a small shadow.

Specified for lobby & reception, gallery & retail, living room and entryway & hallway; it reads as bold and dramatic.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for CA#499 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on CA#499 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is the bloom in CA#499 meant to be a cornflower?

Yes, loosely. The deep cobalt and the ragged, deeply cut petals are what make a cornflower recognisable, while the white petal tips and the daisy below are a painter's liberties, chosen to echo the pale ground rather than to record the plant exactly.

What happens to the ridged grey field of CA#499 under a downlight?

Sharper. A downlight fixed close to the wall grazes the surface, so the grey field breaks into crisp ridges and shadows and the petals look cut from the paint. Lit flat from the front, the same texture softens and the canvas reads mainly as blue and grey.

Is CA#499 a print or an original painting?

An original. CA#499 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of CA#499 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
