Art for hotels and restaurants in the US, from Miami to Las Vegas
iHomeArt paints art for hotels and restaurants in the US by hand and to order: guest-room programmes across every room type, lobby and corridor pieces sized to the wall, and single canvases for independent restaurants, from Miami to Las Vegas. What matters most is fit with your designer's brief, your room types and your opening date, whether you are building new or converting, as a record number of US hotels now are.

Reflagging or renovating a US hotel: when should the art change?
With the rooms: a conversion keeps the building but changes the story, so plan the new art floor by floor alongside the refit, and keep any piece that still suits the new scheme.
Much of the work in US hotels is now conversion: in mid-2026 the pipeline held a record 1,567 conversion projects with 152,044 rooms, up 15% in a year. Many join a soft brand, which keeps an independent character and so leans on its art. HALL Arts Hotel in Dallas, whose owners chose its contemporary collection with two curators, joined Marriott's Autograph Collection in January 2026 with a refreshed lobby and guest rooms. In Scottsdale, The Monarch reopened in April 2026 as Hotel Solaya, its rooms and common spaces redone in a Modern Mexican style rich in cultural textures.
A new flag brings a new palette and a new story, and the walls are where guests meet it first. Order by floor: the first floor's canvases double as your sample, and each later batch is painted while its floor is closed for works, every canvas labelled with its room number. Keep the pieces that still fit; from a daylight photo of them, the new work is painted to sit beside them.
Who chooses the art for a US hotel, and where does iHomeArt fit?
The interior designer, usually with an art consultant, and sometimes the owner or an in-house art director; they set the story and choose the artists, and we paint the canvases their scheme needs, at their sizes and in their palette.
The team changes from project to project. At the 200-key Crescent Hotel in Fort Worth, designed by Rottet Studio, one art consultant guided the collection and another supplied the large works in the guest-room corridors. The Ivory, a 48-room boutique hotel in Los Angeles, has its own art director. The largest operators keep the work in-house: MGM Resorts' Director of Art and Culture oversees nearly 1,600 works across the company's properties.
Designers are the constant. Hotels and restaurants were the largest sector for Interior Design magazine's 2026 Rising Giants, a third of their design fees. iHomeArt works for that team rather than around it: we paint to the consultant's drawings, the designer's renders and the FF&E schedule, design pieces for the scheme when asked, and, if you ask before painting starts, reserve a design for your property alone. More on art production for art consultants and art for FF&E procurement.
What should art for hotels in the US say about the place?
Its region, told lightly: desert tones in Scottsdale, the Art Deco coast in Miami Beach, the city's own museums in Fort Worth; guests notice when the art could hang anywhere.
US hotels increasingly brief their art around where they stand. Kimpton Miralina opened in Paradise Valley, Arizona, in January 2026 with 224 rooms and 36 casitas in a desert-inspired design. The Delano Miami Beach came back in 2026 with oil paintings and other work by Miami-based artists. At the Crescent in Fort Worth, the art direction drew on the Kimbell, the Modern and the Amon Carter, the museums next door.
The brief can be as short as the one a Curbed writer described for a mid-tier hotel near Orlando: art that says 'Florida but not Disney'. Take the region's palette, sand and clay in the Southwest, ocean blues on the coasts, forest greens in the mountains, then have one subject family painted across the property in variations. How do you plan hotel art in the US for king and double-queen rooms?
By room type: a king room takes one canvas about two-thirds the width of the bed, a double-queen room a pair or one wide piece across both headboards, and every room of a type gets its own hand-painted variation of one approved design.
The two-bed room is an American standard: two headboards on one wall take a pair, one canvas over each bed, or a single wide piece centred across both. A queen bed is 60 in (152 cm) wide and a king 76 in (193 cm), so a canvas about 100 cm (40 in) wide sits well over a queen and about 130 cm (51 in) over a king, hung 20–30 cm (8–12 in) above the headboard.
Repetition is the other question. Curbed's account of mid-tier hotel art describes images matched to the colour scheme and furniture samples, then produced in quantity by artists paid a royalty, or assembled from stock-image databases. Hand painting opens another route: approve one design for each room type, and we paint every room's canvas as a variation of palette or composition, so each floor reads as one and no two rooms match. Each canvas is labelled with its room on the packing list, and its code stays on file for re-orders. More on guest-room art programmes.

What size should art be for a US hotel lobby, corridor and elevator lobby?
Measure the wall and the way in before choosing: a lobby piece often needs 2.5 metres or more, corridors a vertical series sized to the wall between doors, and each elevator lobby one piece that tells guests which floor they are on.
Size a lobby piece from the wall, not the room. Behind reception or facing the entrance, a canvas of 2.5 metres or more, or a set of panels, holds its own; in lobby seating, one painting at sofa scale does the job, as an oil from the hotel's collection does in the Crescent's lounge. At the top end, the building adapts: Fontainebleau Las Vegas rebuilt its south lobby wall to fit a 46-foot work by Urs Fischer.
Guests pass corridor and elevator-lobby walls several times a day, so treat them as a series: one theme, verticals sized to the wall between doors, and a distinct piece at each elevator lobby. Among gilt and marble, a gold frame or a quiet palette keeps a canvas in the register of the room. See hotel lobby art and hotel corridor series.
What restaurant wall art suits US restaurants and bars?
Art that belongs to the concept rather than to a colour chart: most US restaurants are independent and buy a piece or two at a time, so start with the wall diners face and the light it gets at dinner.
The US restaurant trade is mostly small businesses: 7 in 10 restaurants are single-unit operations, and 9 in 10 employ fewer than 50 people. So the buyer is usually the owner, sometimes with a designer, and the art is one or two walls that set the mood. Designers interviewed by Houstonia describe immersive restaurant design as multisensory, sometimes built around art installations; one turned a glass-and-concrete box into a dining room that feels like the French Cajun countryside of Louisiana.
In hotels, each bar and restaurant gets a brief of its own: Faena New York gave its restaurant, La Boca, murals of panthers and monkeys. Tell us the cuisine, the finishes, how the room is lit after dark and which wall diners face: a sunny brunch room wants colour, a steakhouse lit low wants depth and a dark ground. One piece is a welcome order, and a group opening several sites can have one design family painted for each. See art for restaurant groups and bars.
Hotels with residences and apartments: what do the units need?
A home-sized set for each unit type, usually one piece for the living room and one for each bedroom, in the hotel's palette but calmer, ordered by type and labelled by unit.
More US hotels now come with homes attached. The Dallas Edition, due at the end of 2028, pairs 214 hotel keys with 60 residences, and Anantara Miami, planned for 2030, combines 50 hotel suites, 120 resort units and 100 branded residences. In Houston's Colombe d'Or, a tower of 283 rental apartments and 18 hotel suites, the designer chose the art from some 350 works in the owner's collection, with approval to buy more from Houston artists.
Plan them by unit type like guest rooms, but size them like homes: a sofa-wall canvas for the living room, a bedroom piece a little narrower than the bed, and colours a step calmer than the lobby. When a unit's look changes, its codes are on file, so the set can be re-ordered or repainted in a new palette. See art for serviced apartments and the US size guide.
How does a US hotel or restaurant order art from iHomeArt?
Send the art schedule, the drawings or a photo of each wall; we price every line, usually within one business day, and photographs of each stage become your approvals.
Hotel FF&E purchasing runs on documents: purchase orders, quote comparisons, lead-time schedules and freight estimates, with designers approving shop drawings before custom pieces are made. Send the schedule with a size on every line; we price each line for its size and finish, suggest designs from some 1,300 in the catalogue or design pieces for the scheme, and mark where one design can be painted in variations.
Where a fabricator would submit shop drawings, we send photographs or video of each stage straight to whoever approves, and the next stage starts only after a yes. Count about 10 days to paint, then 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS express; larger orders may go by air or sea freight on the route we find best, with the shipping cost confirmed before dispatch. With 661 new US hotels forecast to open in 2026 and 738 in 2027, give the art its own line in the schedule, with float. The wider picture is in the US wall art guide.
Each canvas can travel stretched and ready to hang, framed, or rolled; a rolled canvas, the lightest and most economical way to send a large painting, arrives without stretcher bars, and any local framer can stretch it for you.
Art for hotels and restaurants in the US FAQs
Can you paint copies of artworks a hotel already owns for its guest rooms?
Yes, as hand-painted reproductions, so the rooms carry the same story as the lobby. A work still in copyright needs the permission of the artist or rights holder before we paint it. Otherwise we can paint new designs in the same spirit, or design a series for the rooms from the collection's colours.
What is the largest canvas you can paint for a hotel lobby or restaurant wall?
Send us the wall: a photo, its width and height, and how the piece will reach it, by loading dock, service elevator or front door.
Can you paint our hotel, our city's skyline or our logo?
Yes. Send a photograph of the building or the view, or your logo or crest, and we suggest the size and finish it will paint best at. You need to own the image or have permission to use it, and the design can stay exclusive to your property. See paintings from your own image.
Can we see a sample before ordering art for 200 rooms?
Yes, and for a programme that size we recommend it. With a minimum order of one piece, your sample is just the first canvas: we paint it for one room type, you hang it in the mock-up room and approve it, and every later piece is painted in the same hand and checked against it.
What happens if a canvas arrives damaged?
It rarely happens: under 0.01% of pieces are damaged in transit. If one is, send us photos; we take the claim up with the carrier and work out a solution with you, such as a replacement or a refund. Because every piece is painted to order and approved from a photograph before dispatch, finished pieces are not returnable.
How should housekeeping look after hand-painted canvases?
Dust them with a soft, dry cloth and keep cleaning sprays and polish off the paint. Hang them out of direct sun where you can, and away from air-conditioning outlets in guest rooms. Acrylic on canvas is our standard; oil is available on request.
