About this painting

A single red bloom on a hair-thin black stem hangs just right of centre in a wide field of silver-grey, the only bright note on a quiet panoramic canvas.

The upper two-thirds is troweled and scraped into crinkled texture with a soft silvery sheen; below a hazy horizon the lower band turns paler and smoother. At the far left a rust-orange block flecked with lighter marks sits against a notched white rectangle, and fine black lines, a forked twig and a long arc, cross the white. The bloom is blurred at its edges, more a puff of colour than a drawn flower.

WA#1144 is an original wabi-sabi floral painting showing grey plaster-textured field with a rust-orange block and a small red tree, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 11 standard sizes run from 36×18 in (91×46 cm) to 100×50 in (254×127 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Weight sits at both ends, red high on the right and rust low on the left, so centre it over a boardroom credenza or a reception desk whose length matches the canvas. Charcoal walls deepen the silver-grey; a cream wall makes it read lighter and cooler. Pick up the rust in a cognac leather chair or a terracotta vase rather than adding more red to the room.

Specified for lobby & reception, meeting & boardroom, dining room and living room; it reads as calming and moody.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for WA#1144 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 36×18 in to 100×50 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on WA#1144 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

What flower is the red shape in WA#1144 meant to be?

It reads as a single flower head, close to a poppy or a seed puff, on a thin dark stem. Its edges are softened so it glows rather than sitting as a crisp outline, and it is the only saturated colour in the textured upper field.

Why is there a rust-orange block in the lower left of WA#1144?

It counterweights the bloom. The red flower sits high and right of centre while the rust block sits low on the left, so the gaze crosses the long canvas on a diagonal. The two warm tones are related but not matched: the block is browner and duller, the bloom brighter.

Is WA#1144 a print or an original painting?

An original. WA#1144 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of WA#1144 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
