About this painting

A broad, dark grey stroke drops from the upper middle, bends at the bottom and kicks out to the right like a bent elbow, while a narrow grey crescent stands alone at the right edge. Behind them, a misty grey-white field has been scraped back so older layers show through.

Along the top runs a rust-brown band of weathered paint, with white drips and a splash of black falling from it on the left. Faint ruled lines divide the lower quarter into blocks, like the seams of a concrete wall. The texture is thickest in the strokes and the rust band; the middle stays soft and open.

WA#362 is an original wabi-sabi painting showing two dark sweeping strokes on a scraped grey-white field, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The gesture reads clearly down a corridor or across a meeting table, so it suits the closing wall of a passage or the short wall of a boardroom, facing down the length of the table. Its grey and rust work with concrete, black-framed glazing and mid-tone walnut; in a guest room, add charcoal bedding and a leather chair. Cool daylight keeps the field silvery, while warm light pulls the rust band forward and turns the grey towards taupe.

Specified for meeting & boardroom, guest room & suite, corridor & circulation and bedroom; it reads as moody and calming.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for WA#362 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on WA#362 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is the dark shape in WA#362 a letter or a character?

Not a readable one. The bent stroke has the weight of a calligraphic mark, and some viewers see a kneeling figure or a folded arm, but it works as pure gesture: one loaded sweep that turns at the bottom, answered by the thin crescent on the right.

How does the rust band at the top of WA#362 work in a grey scheme?

As the single warm note, it sets the temperature of the room around it. Pick up the rust with one or two accents, such as a cognac chair, a terracotta pot or bronze hardware, and the grey field and dark strokes sit comfortably among cool neutrals.

Is WA#362 a print or an original painting?

An original. WA#362 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of WA#362 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
