About this painting

A white fish and an orange fish meet nose to nose in the middle of a blue-grey stream, their bodies small but their fins and tails flaring into huge feathered fans that fill the left and right thirds of the canvas. Those fans are the sculpted part, thick plaster carved into curling, layered ridges.

The water between them is roughened into small peaks, with white froth gathering at the top right and drifting down the left edge. The colour split is simple, cool white against hot orange across a blue divide, and the tiny gap between the two mouths is where everything converges.

TA#470 is an original textured animal painting showing white and orange koi with flowing sculpted fins on textured blue, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a sculpted relief surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The pair reads as a couple, so it suits a bridal suite, a couples' treatment room or a living room shared by two, hung over the sofa. Against charcoal or dark walnut panelling the white fan stands out sharply and the orange glows; on a pale wall the white side tends to merge with the paint. In a lobby, leave a clear space in front so guests can step close to the carving.

Specified for spa & wellness, lobby & reception, bathroom and living room; it reads as bold.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for TA#470 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Because the surface is not rolled, the choice is between stretched, ready to hang, and stretched in a frame; a frame costs more.
Surface
Sculpted relief is built up in layers with drying time between them, so it costs more than a flat painting of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on TA#470 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

What do two fish facing each other mean in TA#470?

A pair of fish is often read in East Asian art as harmony between two people and as plenty, since the word for fish sounds like the word for surplus. Setting them nose to nose, one white and one orange, makes the idea of opposites meeting very easy to see.

Why do the fish in TA#470 have such large fins?

The fins are stylised and exaggerated well beyond any real fish, and they carry the movement of the picture. Each fan sweeps outward from the body like a gust, so the small, still meeting in the centre is framed by motion on both sides.

Is TA#470 a print or an original painting?

An original. TA#470 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of TA#470 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
